You want to download them? ...as opposed to streaming them??? That could take up a lot of disc space even if anyone provides a legal opportunity to download recent TV shows ( and I don't know of any). I suppose anything is possible with a torrent...but that's a very gray area legal-wise.

The producers of TV shows and movies generally frown on digital downloads because it is so easy to redistribute the material. Are downloads available, yet but as you've discovered there's some risk involved at some of these websites.

If you don't mind flirting with the legalities of such things,
there are a couple of sites that are very good and safe.
Both are bit torrent sites so you would have to know
how to download files using a bit torrent program.

An hour long show is about 350 megs (not high definition)
HD shows an hour long are over a gig in size.

And again, the legalities are at best questionable. It is
generally considered illegal to download TV shows in this manner.

A legal alternative is to watch episodes streaming directly from the TV network's website. You get a few commercials. And you don't have to worry about those pesky lawsuits.

Good grief! I had no idea there was such a problem here. I've been watching some of Fox's shows on their website and it was very simple--like Pooh Bear says.

I've seen Hulu listed and was wondering about them, but was leary about visiting the site. I guess if Raven says it's ok, it's ok!

the big difference here is watch or download big big difference. Watching them online at these sites mentioned is fine no problem. However when you get into wanting to download them to your pc or some where like a flash drive or external hard drive etc then you are on slippery ground because of copyright issues, it can and is often considered theft of copyrighted material. So to watch them as you have been doing is ok no problem and I am sure that is what you meant.

Yes I do use hulu and have never had any problems there. Most of the networks also have their shows available on their websites.

If you like older movies, a great place for movies that are no longer copyrighted (or in some cases never had a valid copyright) is archive.org. They also have books and music that are not copyrighted.

I personally am not into television as much as I use to be. Too much redundancy, lack of original programming, and I find "reality" tv insulting. Recently I missed an episode of a continuing drama I do watch. I went to Hulu to catch up, and I must say as a first timer things were easy and went well. If my experience was the norm I would have to recommend Hulu.

Thanks, all of you. I guess I used the wrong term--all I wanted to do was watch some older episodes I missed, that were too old to be on the network's site any more.
