I get a few a day with my hotmail account that I have had since I first got on the internet back then it was with msn dial up. Maybe like 4 a day, many days none. I have a yahoo account that gets little usage, it is as mentioned one of the extra accounts, I hardly ever have spam. I have a gmail account, which is basically my second used account. It will get a few a month not many. I have no special filters set on any of them just the normal spam filters turned on. I have 2 accounts with comcast who is my ISP, I have never used either one for email, one is tied to an online account and I get updates there but no spam. The other one which I have never ever sent out an email from or received one for myself, well that one has tons of emails and spam on it every time I check it which is rarely. I have no idea why. I think possibly someone else had that same email address previously with comcast and it was terminated and I am now getting all the residuals. Very strange. IN fact the one time I was going to use that address was to sign up for an account and I got a message back saying that email address was already in use by someone else. Changing to a new account is easy and you can still use yahoo just change to a new account, don't close the old one leave it alone. Inform all your legit contacts of the new address so they start to use it instead of the old one. You can still access the old one for whatever you have on it if you don't either transfer it to the new account or save it to your computer. but the new email address will be fresh and should not be getting all the spam. Just be sure you do turn on all the security and spam features in settings. It is never a good idea to store things on your email account. To often they can be lost due to something happening on their servers. If it is important save it to your computer or to an online storage site.

The only way Chili's has your addresses is if you (or someone) gave them to them. If it's a legitimate Chili's email you're perfectly safe to use their unsubscribe link. But I'm not sure it's actually coming from Chili's from the limited description given. Hijacked address lists and such are usually from people who refuse to secure their computers and it makes it tougher for everyone else. This is why I quit using any email account but the freebie webmails (unless of course for work accounts). Then it's a simple matter to close it and set up a new one when people expose me to the hassles. Computers, like cars and, well, people for that matter, require some basic maintenance and protection. Spammers are getting creative and make things look legitimate and people get fooled easily, which the scammers and spammers count on to profit. People buy or just plain send money to them. It's profitable, which is why they do it. If nobody sent them money, they wouldn't bother. Plus when people forward everything, they're asking for trouble. They give a list of addresses without using bcc and not only expose themselves but everyone in the list. Then a bunch of those people hit the forward button too, refuse to use bcc and expose that many more, and so on and so on. The forward button is the cause of a lot of problems for a lot of people. I seldom even open forwarded emails, especially from certain people. Some are only sending dumb jokes I've heard before, "warnings" that are hoaxes and political rhetoric and false anyway or are silly chain emails purporting that if you love God, you'll spam everyone you know plus 100 people.... If people can't take ten seconds to set up a new email, bcc it and clean off the extraneous characters they're rude and inconsiderate and I don't care to try to decipher the email >>>>>though ::>>:all >>>the >>>>>garbage. Are you running a good firewall? Have you run antivirus *and* anti-malware programs lately? Secured your browser? Now's a good time to do it if you haven't. Most will run in the background and many can be set up to run automatically so effort is minimal.

Besides that I got a announcement from my bank stating that they had upgraded the privacy notice. I did not like something I saw, so called the bank. Yep, it was phis hing and he had me forward it to the bank and suggested I change my name and password. It was in my regular email, not spam. Something else came in, and I deleted that also. Just have to be careful

Always move them to your junk mail folder do not just delete them that is how your email program learns what is junk. Also it is not advised to click on the unsubscribe me because in actuality that lets them know it is a good valid email address and one that more spam can be sent to. In most email programs you can set up extra filters other than the standard ones that come programed in. That would be in the program settings and options. Hotmail has a sweep feature that if you get one email from a specific address you can tell it to send all future emails from them to a specific location including the junk mail folder. I don't know about aol. Of course the number one way that your email address gets on the spammers list is by being on forwarded emails, so always remove the names and addresses before forwarding and use the BCC feature to hide all email addresses on the email.
