Yes, it happened to me a couple of years ago. They say you should change your passwords every so often. I don't have a long enough memory either. So I keep an address book with all of them in it.

Remember, no one will ever email you from an actual account and ask for any personal information. If any information is asked for, especially any change in any account, it's spam. These things look like real company sites, but they're easy for anyone who's tech savvy to copy and steal info from unsuspecting people. You can report these things to whatever company is involved by going to their real website. Linda

Of course, I hadn't done anything to compromise my account, or my password. The one this happened to/from, is one I really only read list mail, and don't mail from myself.

But, now that I reset passwords to all my accounts, I forgot the first one I used.... and can not access my "main email account".

ARGH

I will have to wait 24 hours, before I can try and regain access to it, according to google.

Patience... patience, some one grant me patience! LOL

My email was taken over by a spammer and the way I found out is 1)I had trouble emailing and 2)I got returned undeliverable mail that had been sent to all sorts of people I never knew. I had to erase thousands of them over a few days. I contacted Cox and they said my account had been hijacked by the spammer and that they would drop our account if I did not put a stop to it. So I changed the password, but I got returns off and on for a few days.
