programs like i-lock and folder lock

I haven't seen these discussed on this forum. For anyone who wants to hide files from their kids, siblings, whatever seems like a very good thing. I have folder lock (free) on my computer at home and when you add a file, it just vanishes when the program is closed. I feel better having sensitive things like tax info in a completely private file that even my computer tech cannot access.

Was just going to ask about something like that. I have friend who is going through a difficult illness and would like to keep a journal. The computer would be easiest for her, but she worries about privacy.

Jane your friend could very easily keep her blog on a floppy or a thumb drive for utmost privacy. I would consider using 2 floppies and alternating them for each save. That way the most she has at risk is the one entry because both floppies would have all the rest of her comments on them.

Using MS Word offers the option of using a password also so she could use that option

Snidely, that's the most original idea I've come across; but I'm afraid that it would make my rather idiosyncratic typing even worse. I've never been able to use the right Shift properly. Well, thanks to all of you who responded. It does seem as if my best bet is just to buy a keyboard that has lights to alert me to when CapsLock is on. Just wanted to be able to use this cheap one because it came with the new computer I got so that my husband and I could continue to use Win 7 for a long time! But sometimes life is easier if we are willing to spend a little more!

to lock rate or not to lock???

We were thankful to lock at 5 1/8%. By the time we closed 45 days later, the rate was 5 7/8%. It'll take us only a few months to make up for the $960 fee in the house payment difference. The banker tried to discourage us from locking, saying it rarely changed enough to make a difference...But it sure worked in our favor to 'follow our gut.' Unfortunately, there are no crystal balls or guarantees for these things.

I've used that before to learn it before installing for others, but I think all of those others didn't like it and I simply make them a zip folder with a password instead that they could move to where ever they wanted to hide it. You can change the folder icon to a blank and most people have no idea what that is..

Yes, because it's so good at locking in moisture. I always give my washed lettuce a spin in the salad spinner before it goes into the L&L, and air dry other things. FYI, I cut yellow, red and orange peppers almost a week ago into small pieces for stir frying which I did this evening. They were still perfectly fresh. I love that stuff! Also, I like the pieces I bought from QVC; I've also acquired the egg cartons from Heritage Mint, and bought some glasslock at Bed Bed & Beyond. (Our Oriental Market also has glasslock so I could get it there.) I use the glasslock for reheating some foods, minus the lid, and will put that into lunch boxes so they can go into the microwave.

Thanks, Owbist I guess a thumb drive could work as her laptop doesn't have a floppy. She doesn't trust the password in Word. I'll mention the thumb-drive.
