Side, the drawing is a little off - the door actually clears the toilet by about 1.5". :) It's a New York bathroom! Anyway, thanks Bill - I realize this is something the tile guy/contractor should do but in my case, I am responsible for buying all the materials and such, and he's just going to do the actual work, so I'm measuring for myself. There is no tub deck. The contractor is going to build a wall for alcove installation - hopefully it will be a knee wall with glass above, if I can afford the glass. If not, it'll be a full wall, which will of course require more tile. Thank you for the measurements - I'm not quite sure what you mean by bullnose on the 3" side. Does that mean that each outer corner will need to have bullnosed tile all the way up and down? That's what I assumed but I wasn't sure. Inner corners don't require anything special, right? Thanks for your help!

Oh my gosh! Never even gave that a thought! We used some of that edging/finishing material when we set the tile on the floor (carpet will be butted up against the tile in a few areas). It's not Schluter... it's whatever brand Lowe's carries... and it came in a "sand" color which matches my tile color perfectly. I don't particularily care for the contemporary look of the Schluter edge in the pictures shown on the Schluter site because we are having oil-rubbed bronze for all of our fixtures but I may be able to use the "sand" colored stuff and then maybe just run a bead of clear caulk down the wall edge where the back end of the edge/finish piece and the painted wall meet just to cover any thinset that may sneak out from behind. Thank you SO much for you help though in getting me to think outside the box!

Annz Looks nice! I like the idea of a quarter round that matches the floor will have to look into it. My DH says your radius looks smaller than ours? we have 3/4 corner bullnose. When we cut the 22.5° angles or filler piece was almost twice as long as yours (I think)? Sierraeast...thanks for the link...had been to trimtex site too. I found one bullnose adaptor at a local moulding company (wood and supposed to match our trim, butit did not match the baseboard exactly...have to look into the trim tex products I guess but I bet they wont match...not too thrilled about their "stand alone corner" idea.

All my walls are bullnose but the windows are all finished in wood trim. I also have crown molding and baseboards. I believe you're referring to the drywall bullnose and if so there are corners pieces available so you can easily install baseboards. For windows, I think you'll need to install a jamb around the frame of the opening, then trim that with your moldings. Any carpenter can do it but window hardware may prevent a jamb from being installed. I would take a photo of your window, along with measurements, to a lumber store and ask if it can be done on your windows. Or, take the info to a carpenter and see what they can do.
