Where can I find Nutone Recessed Medicine Cabinets in person?

Hi,

I found a Nutone medicine cabinet online, but I would really like to see it in person. It's a 36 inch recessed triple mirror one.

Does anyone have this medicine cabinet? Are you happy with the quality? I would rather not have to deal with a restocking fee, so I would like to be sure that I want it before ordering it. Does anyone have experience with Nutone medicine cabinets?

Have a look at Restoration Hardware. I've used two of their cabinets and have been pleased with the quality. One is a surface mount white model that has been in our main bath for 5 years - looks like new with daily use. The other is a recessed polished nickel model. Very nice interior - all mirrored with glass shelves, and you can get them with lighting/outlet inside as well (expensive).

You can order replacement, custom made cabinet doors (scherrs.com) for instance. Otherwise a local cabinet maker might be good to use, particularly if you have need other carpentry in the bathroom. I used Scherrs -- and the doors came out great

This one is 13.5 inches wide. It has a polished edge instead of a metal banded edge, though. The inside is plastic, with plastic shelves. It has a 17.5 inch high cabinet, so you will have to make your hole smaller. It is also only 3" deep. http://www.cabinetsmedicine.com/product/broan-nutone-b7233-focus-single-door-recessed-medicine-cabinet-2-shelves I would suggest that if you really want to replace the one you have with an actual medicine cabinet instead of using the methods others have suggested, you take it out and feel along the edges to see if you can easily widen your hole. Most cabinets are at least 14" wide. That half inch opens up a whole world of small cabinets to you. If the previous hole is not boxed with wood, you might be able to easily widen and lengthen it to suit a different cabinet.

A little off topic, but I ordered my Broan medicine cab online from efaucets and it is great quality. For all the stuff I got online, this one had a $150 shipping fee since it was oversize or extra heavy or some strange reason. I didn't see the extra charge until I had hit submit button and efaucets would not let me cancel the order before they shipped it. So my $318 cabinet cost an extra $150! Buyer beware when you order yours.

Yikes, sue_b!

That's another bad customer service report on efaucets. I'm thinking I'll try to avoid them when I buy things for the new bathroom.

Wow, sue_b. I found a local dealer and I'm going to take a look at the Nutone medicine cabinet today. They don't have the triple recessed one on display, but the smaller one instead. This will give me an idea of the quality.

Hopefully, if I like it, I will be able to find one locally. I actually heard one other horror story of buying a Nutone medicine cabinet online. Evidently it went to the wrong address and it was pretty badly mangled when it finally arrived to its destination :-(.

I also like the Ikea Godmorgan triple medicine cabinet, but if I want to put sconces, the Ikea one will be too big and it also juts out a couple of inches from the wall. Details...details...
