Toolbar wasn't locked. Whats a vertical drag bar? And how would I drag open the address bar if I don't have or see one? Sorry, I'm obviously very inexperienced and confused. I do remember moving a "separator" to inactive because I couldn't see it or know what it did. So I've put it back but still dont see anything there. (By the way, because I didn't see it I added it again and the word separator went in again.But still don't see anything.) Please don't laugh. I'm really trying.Thanks, Sandy

I have no menu's .. that's the way I like it.. press ALT and it shows up. The setting for that is View / Toolbars ... then some checkmarks next to what you want showing. Perhaps look in there. lotodig- Just so you're more confident, I've re-booted my computer many times over the years using the technique I've described. Several times, for example, my cursor has frozen so I couldn't navigate to do anything, such as re-boot normally. I didn't always know why some problem was happening, but I did know that the power button re-boot would not make anything worse. Usually the only time you can have a problem is if you decide to do a re-boot/re-start of any kind in the middle of some major activity where you are making changes to the computer, such as installing updates or doing a defragmentation. However, in the other 99.9% of cases, all you're doing is cleaning out the RAM of some unexplained little problem and starting fresh.
