I don't normally comment on these journal entries---somstimes I almost feel like I'm peeking in someone's diary in a way and feel a little uncomfortable about it, but that's just sometimes--and I only look if I've read everything else already! (Lilo's entries were an exception----they were always chapters from a book about Heaven on earth!! How I love you, Lilo----SUCH a treasure!!) Rob, I will say you've brought back memories of when I went through a divorce with three children and never a DIME of support---I left him alone because he turned over the house to me, which is what I silently prayed for, while sitting in the lawyer's office for the last time. You have MOXIE and I appreciate that part of you when it comes down to the nitty-gritty and hard times. Mardas' point has a lot of validity---it would get tiring, feeling as though one had to defend himself for the way he/she feels, acts, thinks, with every typed word that came into our view. We are not a court---we are a garden of incredible diversity and great hard-won beauty in heart and form. Amen and Amen again.

Note: FYI: Posted on January 31, 2011 supplement to ARS Official Rose List to "Rose" Group and to Garden Web members. I noted that "Mary Pickersgill" is listed as single (4-8) petals in the 2011 January/February Rose magazine, while MR 12 database list it as having 26-40 petals. Purpose: to inform ARS, judges and exhibitors of a mistake in an ARS official judging document. Rather than ARS acknowledging an error, compounded the mistake by posting on its website "News" section, (Corrected Jan/Feb 2011 Rose Registrations.) "Due to a system upgrade in the publishing department, a font compatibility issue caused several squares to print in the 2011 January/February "Rose" Registrations. Please see the Resources section under "American Rose" to download a corrected PDF. We apologize for the inconvenience." Yes several squares were filled in, even though it had nothing to do with actual judging, but not a word that it also changed "Mary Pickersgill" petal count to full (26/40) petals in the revised 2011 January/February "Rose" Registrations. While the "News" section is not considered an official judging document, by noting corrections to 2011 Jan/Feb "Rose Registrations, ARS sneakily filled its obligation of notifying the public that "Mary Pickersgill" has a changed petal count. The "Mary Pickersgill" incident is a typical example of ARS twisting the facts. To learn more, go to ARS IRAR-R/ Rose registrations, information listed is that Mary Pickersgill was registered on 10-13-2010, being in bold print indicating a change accrued in the previous 4 months. Next try ARS MR 12 database, use the Search box to locate "Mary Pickersgill" listed as full (26/40) petals, with the latest update of 10-21-2010. After completing this circle several times, realize a change was made, but when? Approximately 18 months ago a similar issue accursed with "Renegade" registered in 2008 was listed as a single when it�s a double. Finally it was changed to the proper petal count in ARS 2010 Official List. When the 2011 handbook was published, "Renegade" again was listed as a single, this time without noting a correction to the 2011 Handbook, in MR 12 database. *As previous posted, ARS is not ready for Modern Technology.* 2-4-2011

Well, I did figure out how to edit the styles on the tablet in Firefox, which will make things a lot easier for testing. You just enter this into the address field, replacing the id number to one that corresponds with your style <b>about:stylish-edit?id=1</b> It takes a little trial and error to find the right number to enter since it looks like each style gets a number when it is installed, but I don't think it re-uses numbers after you uninstall one. So just keep counting up the numbers until you find the right style. Numbers for uninstalled styles just come up blank. If you can use a separate keyboard with the tablet it would make it easier, but using the built-in one works. I couldn't scroll down all the way for some reason in the edit box, but I have the free "hacker's keyboard" installed from Google Play store which has directional arrows for moving the cursor and that worked great. I'm hoping when I am done I can just copy the code and paste it into the userstyles site right from the tablet. The only thing I have found so far that works for the tablet in portrait mode is to set all the fonts to same fixed pixel size and a large one...30 pixels. When I use a smaller fixed font size the tablet screen defaults to a zoomed out look with tiny fonts and lots of blank space. If I try applying a larger % font size to everything it makes all the headers and stuff so big that it is un-useable. The regular style seems to look ok in landscape mode, even with the column layout boxes on the sides. Going to fiddle some more.

It's not the font that makes it faster to read, really, it's that it's in text mode. The Courier is easy to read because it doesn't use proportional spacing, has clear serifs and draws well, which also makes it fast to read, but the main deal is that without HTML and images, it just draws a lot faster. My point in mentioning it, however, was to point out that it's local settings that determine how your message will be seen, not what you see on your side. If the reading program doesn't find Georgia installed on the local system, it'll look either for the next font by alphabet or, if a family is specified, the first on on the list that it finds installed will come up.
