Blue Star rangetop installation- help!

We are finally installing our 48" BS rangetop and have a few questions that I was hoping forum members could help out with. According to the instruction manual if it installed next to other cabinets it needs to be 11/16" above the adjacent counter tops. But it also says max height is 36" from floor. If we go with the 11/16" we are definitely above 36" What's the correct height to install? Secondly we are rather disappointed with the fit and finish of our drip pans (and the unit in general). They are very flimsy and have extrenmely sharp edges on the sides. If you hit it, instant cut. Is this normal? Also the screws holding the unit are either very loose or installed caddy wonker. What's up with that? Lastly, how do you level the unit and shim it when the screw underneath each end of the unit are not in equally and already tilt the unit to one side, along with the center which wants to naturally bow and sag the drip drawers?

My DH is intalling it and is a very handy type. In fact we have the remodel from hell and he has had to fix many mistakes from our subs who can't figure things out. We don't have much faith in the appliance dealer we bought this from who is the auth. dealer but is pretty clueless about BS to deal with this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
