ad-block plus blocking some pics and not others?

I'm beyond baffled....a common thing.

In This thread I can't see the pics with FF and Adblock enabled. I see them fine when it is disabled or when I try it with IE.

I see pics in other threads just fine...I wonder why? ...maybe from being posted previously? Shootin in the dark here. Also, like I said in that thread, when I go to the link provided by the OP in her post made Thu, Feb 25, 10 at 1:03 it takes me to her P-bucket page but where there should be pics, I just see gray boxes. I've never seen that before.

Hints? tips? I'd really like to keep the Ad-block, but don't want to miss pics...sometimes....iykwim.

I see the clickable thumbnails just fine and when I click on them it takes me to the photobucket page and I do see the picture there fine also.I see all the pictures in the photobucket link she provided also and I am using firefox with adblock plus with easylist subscriptions. You might try clearing your cache in firefox see if that helps. It does not appear to be a firefox with adblock plus problem.

I did post this same reply to you at that location.

Been there and done that and just did again. I'm still not seeing the pics with ad-block enabled. I'm guessing then that it must be a combination of things and one involves ad-block. Now what 'could' it be.

Anyone else see, or not see the pics at my link above with FF and ad-block enabled?

I think that you would be wasting space splitting a square plot into four corners. A better option would be to cultivate the entire area and then make narrow paths on the interior. Some ideas would be to use pats of straw as pavers-stepping stones, or use the wood you were going to use for the raised beds. You could lay the boards across cinderblocks to keep them up off the soil. In either case the roots could extend into the soil under the walk way, and you wouldn't have to worry about mowing the lawn in the tight space between beds. Although it doesn't matter much with very narrow walk ways, the dragon tooth pattern is the most efficient use of space for greenhouse bench placement, and would be the same for garden blocks. It is basicaly an "E" or variant of it. I would put the long back row to the north and grow your tall plants there (corn, or tomato plants, or trellis). This pattern would also look nice out lined with boards as a single complex bed. If you are worried about isolating the cultivated garden soil from the lawn to keep things tidy, I have a 20 x 15 plot that uses logs as borders (but 2x6 boards would have also worked). The loosened soil plus ammendments makes the entire thing a large raised bed. I leave room for a couple of narrow walkways on the interior, and just mulch that more heavily than other areas to keep my shoes from getting dirty.

They appeared to be doing some sort of test using an old Dec 11 intro ad for a Disney blue ray item or maybe it was a hacker. In any case it was positioned over the regular text in every forum making everything unreadable instead of being on its own in the empty white spaces. So it was very dumb.

Fanboys and Easylist are both good general subscriptions. Nowadays when Adblock Plus installs, it automatically subscribes you to one or the other at random. Yeah, if you don't have Easylist in there, and you disable Fanboy, you won't be subscribed to any list and Adblock Plus won't do you a bit of good. So you'll want to re-enable it. Optionally, if you want to try Easylist, it's here: http://easylist.adblockplus.org/en/ or if you'd rather: Add EasyList to Adblock Plus I wouldn't subscribe to both at the same time though, it might slow your browser down too much checking through two huge lists. :) Edit: It's okay to have both Easylist and Fanboy listed in you subscriptions... just don't have both enabled(checked) at the same time. Edit2: I just tried Fanboy on one of my other computers just in case there was a problem with one of his filters. It "seems" to work fine. Adblock Plus is excellent -- and free! (I use Firefox, and there is an Adblock Plus add-on for Firefox.) You might also want to install a good anti-malware software. I use SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition; Malwarebytes is also highly spoken of, and has a free version. Make sure to update regularly.

hmmm...well I just went to This thread that was started today and in viewing the thread for the first time, with ad-block enabled, I'm seeing the pics just fine.

Maybe the thread I linked to originally is just some sort of snafoo and hopefully things will be fine going forward.

I posted this also in the thread in question.

With the link that the OP posted, I can see the pictures.

With the clickable thumbnails that Sue provided, I can see them. When I click on the bird bath picture, I get The action that you were trying to perform has failed. . When I click on the barn picture, it takes me to the OPs photobucket where I can see the picture. Why I can see one and not the other is a mystery.

I'm using FF with no add-ons.

Yep Bernie, that's what I get using IE (goodness that is slooooooow) or FF with Ad-block disabled.

Do you see ads and the some of the new advertising links within the text without any add-ons? Just curious.

Let's not post to 'that' thread anymore, but just post here with what you see/don't see and any suggestions. I think the OP wants that thread to die as she is starting a new one...likely hoping all of it will work for all.

I am seeing the new ad links within text and the only ads that I see right now is the 'Olay' ad at the top and the 'Olay' ad on the right side.

I see no ads at all, I do NOT see the vibrant in line ads, Adblock plus with easylist will block all of those as well.
