Photo bucket linking back to my PB site

Raven or anyone who knows. When I post a photo in a forum and click on it, it links back to my photo bucket. When I do that I can also go into settings. I was wondering if all posters can do that. If they can, is there a way to prevent that. I posted my desktop wallpaper so you can try.

Vala55, when I click on your picture it takes me to my own PB account. The only settings we are able to change are our own. Sandy

In fact now I remember asking the same question back when I first started using PB. Its jarring to imagine anyone can change things.

This has to do with pictures that belong to other people and websites where people are paying for the bandwidth that they use. Like cell-phone minutes, sort of. If, for example, you go to my website and see an orchid picture you want to use on your website. There are two things you can do. First option is to simply copy it to your website. If you don't have permission, that is simple theft of intellectual property but is not an actual out-of-pocket expense for me. Second, you can put the full URL of the picture in you web page. That is not only theft of the picture, but doing it costs me money, because every time it is loaded by anybody in the world, it uses my bandwidth. Insult to injury, so to speak. FYI, on Snapfish using Firefox, if you put the cursor over the picture, right mouse click and select "Copy image location" you will get the full URL. Paste that in the browser and you will see the picture. Snapfish probably wants people to see the photos on their page not included in other web pages. I see their point since they are selling a service. It may be your picture, but it is their bandwidth. BTW, I am incredibly easy with giving permission for my pictures if they are copied and I am given credit as photographer. Ask, tho, non-commercial purposes only especially not eBay. ;-> Back to posting pictures. If you have your own pictures on your own website, then add links all you want. Use a photo editor to reduce the size. I do many of my pictures 432px (6 inches) wide with a quality level of 4 (the low end of medium).

Neil, No, i would not plant them in Full sun,morning sun,up to about 1 or 2 in the after noon is enough.Hosta love lots of water,they can even be grown in containers if you like. Here's is there answer. Hi, We wanted to provide you all with information on the editor, and where we're going from here. How do I return to the previous editor? With the new editor now in place, this is the one we will be using going forward. There is no option to return to the previous editor. You can still find Pixlr's editor on their website: Pixlr Express Editor Pixlr Advanced Editor (for layering) Why can't you switch it back to the Pixlr editor? The reason we cannot offer the option for you to return to the previous editor is that we are no longer offering it on our site. Our contract with Pixlr has ended, and we are no longer partnered with them to provide those editing tools for use on Photobucket. To use picasa, once you have on your screen the photo you want to use, go to the right and click "link to this photo". You can choose the size of the photo as well as your privacy level. Then it spits out some HTML for link to or embed. Copy the stuff in the embed box. Then stick that into a post. I'm old school and use (img src=whateverthatstuffintheboxwas) using the pointy carets (sp?) instead of parentheses.

You can get into your settings probably because you are logged into your Photobucket account. Anyone else clicking on it from another computer is not going to be able to do that because it will only take them to the sign-in page since they are not you and don't have the password. Log out of Photobucket, clear your cookies, and then click on one of the photos and see what happens.

correct you see your account since you are logged in, however in many instances I have noticed when someone post a picture in their photobucket it make available ALL of their pictures in ALL of their photobucket account, that may not be something you want to share! Check your settings to make sure all pictures are set to private and not shared publicly.
That did not happen when I clicked on your pic above, all I got when I clicked on it was the log in page for photobucket not even the actual pic you posted which is good.

I try to let people know when I come upon one that is sharing their entire life in pics which I am sure they are NOT wanting everyone to see LOL.

I unchecked a couple of things to keep it more private. I really don't mind sharing my photos, they are not family. When I heard you could trace where the pictures were taken I made sure that was not loaded onto PB. Thanks again.

Where in the heck do you find the Settings?
They change Photobucket so much, I don't even understand it anymore.

Once you are logged in, look beside your name, to the right in the blue bar ar the top.
Use the dropdown arrow and choose Account Settings
Once you get to that page, you will see numerous tabs, ie Personal information, Album Settings, Account Settings, etc.

I have My Album settings set to not link back to my albums.

Mine was checked and I unchecked it.
Saw more goodies there to use like the thumbnail like you have here.

Thanks Sue for giving the instructions I should have done that in my post. As I said they don't make the settings easy to find!
