Monitor Problem

Is there anyone familiar with the ASUS LCD Monitor VE276Q.

I was not happy with the color so when I was making adjustment I accidently turned off the display port.

Now i cannot get any pic at all the screen is blank and does not light up. A message tells me only that the display port is turned off.

I have tried everything to turn on the screen without luck.

Take a look through the manual provided here.

If you check the specs here you will see there are 3 choices for skin tone and 4 for 'colour temperature' what ever that means so the manual will likely address those points for you.

Failing that either contact the Asus help desk or go to the Asus forum..

Looks like page 18 of the manual owbist referenced shows how to change input settings.

Were you using display port?

Laura1, I have very bad eye sight even with glasses and contacts, so I know how to make fonts larger! First off, if your screen isn't filling the entire screen, look at the upper right corner where you see a minus, double squares, and an X. Click the double squares and it will restore the screen to full size. Then look on the tool bar for "page" and then select "font" and then click "largest". My DH also put a "zoom" on our bottom tool bar so I can just click on it to make the words even bigger. These things all make reading Garden Web so much easier! Linda Leaf

Be aware that if this turns out to be something on the motherboard and you elect to replace the motherboard it will also cost you an operating system because the current XP is tied to that specific motherboard. As Someone suggested that an overheating capacitor on the MoBo could be the problem you might study the capacitors etc with a magnifying glass looking for discolouration or slight bulging, you never know.

Thanks for your suggestion, Joe, but when I go to step 3 to right-click on Windows Internet Explorer, it's not there on the list. I've searched the web about this and others have had the same problem. I have searched my computer and can't find it anywhere. It's like they (Microsoft) have found a secret hidey-hole to store it in. Even my son looked around and couldn't find it. (He's a lot more computer savvy than I am.) Believe me I have spent mega time on this. I went to the Microsoft website and tried the fix-it link and nothing happened, either.

No mike, I just pressed on it and the system failed.
I have tried all in the manual owbist sent me a link for.
All without success. I'm taking it back to where I bought it so they can sort it out.
The screen was getting darker and darker and both brightness and contrast were on the max 100 so maybe I have a dud for it not quite 6 months old.
