Is that bad...No. What do I do...Nothing. I think you are actually referring to the restore image on a separate partition which, in the event of a problem, could be used to restore the computer to the way it was when it brand new. Normally, you should not be adding-deleting-changing any files located there.
The size of that partition and the amount of space available on it should not change. It should stay just as it is and you should not add-change-delete anything on it.
That partition has stayed the same since the day you got the laptop, you probably just never looked to see, the manufacturer stores your back up of all the original stuff that was how your laptop was the day you bought it there. That is all that is in there you do not add anything to that area and you do not remove from it. If you ever need to reformat you laptop you do not need recover cd you have all the info in that partition. This is why most computer companies no longer provide CD or DVDs with the computers.
So as everyone has said just leave it alone and be happy it is there should you need it. But you should have at some point made copies to CD or DVD as owbist states, that is in case something were to happen to that partition if it became corrupted or infected you would be in a jam if you had not made a copy of it. Not everyone does this but it is a good practice.
and there are no silly questions everyone learns by asking yours was a legit question.
I would second the suggestions made to make copies of the restore partition to CDs or DVDs. Having these recently saved my b**t when an attempted repair went wrong. If that partition should somehow become corrupted or wiped out, you would have the disks to fall back on.
