another question 'file D'

I was just looking for a file in 'C'- that I still can't find.... But I noticed that in file 'D;, was my 'recovery file'. The graph showed 1.89 free of 11.3 space. Is that normal? It seems like there isn't any room left- but I have no idea if this would be correct or not. File 'C' has lota and lots of space left. Thx

Since you haven't mentioned what sort of computer you have and didn't say what version of Windows you're using, I can only make a couple guesses. Usually, something that is labeled "Recovery" is your recovery partition and is there to return your system to the way it was when it was first built. You should not be adding or deleting any files from this space--leave it alone. The amount of space it shows is probably normal, and it's usually too small to worry about anyway. I have no idea why yours is labeled "D".

Usually, something that is labeled "D" is your CD or DVD optical drive and you would only be seeing space used/available on it if there was a disc in the drive and you were reading it. However, if that is what you are doing then the numbers you provided don't make any sense to me.

Very normal. Just leave that drive alone.

Dear Grammynow, I have both the digitized file and the converted to .pes files. I don't know what program my friend used to convert the file but she has a Viking machine so maybe that is part of the problem? Can I email them to you to see if you can get either to read on the machine? Wanda

The vivienne files has a lovely aqua and black capsule wardrobe, Maire cate! I am decidedly not a size zero, so you may well be Impressed at the number of garments in the bag :-) I am not a roller, I tried that method once or twice and it was a hot mess to get things out--- any time you want an item you have to completely unpack and repack. If I am staying in a hotel longer than one night I unpack almost completely, hanging everything and putting other things in drawers. But I usually use the packing cube thingies from Eagle Creek and ebags. I will use a medium or large zippered packing bag for all my slacks, another for all the tops, a small cylindrical one for undies and socks, another for scarves, etc. that way when I want a shirt I can just take that cube out and not disturb everything else. I put these cubes in drawers as is unless something would benefit for being hung up. Alternatively, if we are going on a trip requiring a lot of dressing up, I will pack complete outfits individually in those space bag thingies. That way I have not only the clothes, but the stockings, shoes, jewelry, any special underwear, etc. in one package. Those are the bags you ziplock and then roll it up to,squeeze all the air out, then unroll it to lie very flat. It's amazing how unwrinkled clothes are when packed in those space bags!

no- I had no intention of touching it- just didn't know that recovery took up almost all of 'fileD'. I don't have capabilities of a CD/DVD on this HP Mini, so it isn't anything to do with that. I am just awake tonite and snooping...

No need to have free space on the recovery partition, since you should not be adding or deleting anything there. Mine was originally set up that way also, with D drive being the recovery partition. My optical drives are E and F, so any lettering can be used in any given machine. My USB drives are also lettered, G, H, K, etc.

my recovery partitions have always been labeled D drive.
they always have a little extra space in them but not much they really don't want you to mess with D drive in case you should have to use it to do a recovery of the pc only what is necessary is on that drive.
