Cute skates!

Don't know if I should write this or not, I suggested that she post her great looking skates over here but she hasn't! It's on "trash to treasure forum" "Skates hanging in garage for years!" Look what she did to them!! Wonderful! So those of you with a pair around will know just what to do with them! That forum doesn't get too much action but these are to good to not be seen. Enjoy!! Thanks to both of you for heading me over to T2T - great idea and so well done. Wish I still had my old skates. Maybe I'll find another pair.

Thank you, Jane. Yes, it snowed again last night, and more expected tonight to add to the stuff that was still there! Thank you , Lynne. I love that cloth too, I have had it for years! Jeanne, yes, doll Baby must have a cloche. CTS had the little butter cloches for 1.50! Karen, yes the skates are from CTS. I was hesitant to buy them. They are breakable so may be a problem to store! Candy, Hans Brinker was a fave of mine. I remember getting it in 4th grade from my aunt, and couldn't put it down! Luvs, none of your comments show up on my blog. But thank you for trying. Dream I replied to you earlier..but somehow it didn't go through...well anyway... Love the Cute table setting with all the little skaters and the 'Narration'! I see some of us here will glady send you some snow... I've got some for you too. We've been getting so much and expecting more by the week's end. I've had enough already...especially once the Holidays are gone...I want the snow gone too..lol Well, as the saying goes.. Thanks, Holiday-ers! Yes, rafor, I do try to decorate for 'Winter' ... I keep it up til early March usually (when I am craving for Spring! I love 'snowmen & snowladies' & deer. The Nativity & Santa's I put away after the New Year. punk...the window box I've tried about everywhere in my house! I am sad that it did not fit on treadle sewing machine in the LR ...but it is 30" tall (22 wide)...so then I couldn't hang up that big old window w/B&W old Christmas family pics. I've worked at that window box this past yr buying the Old World Santa after sales...finding that slim tree this Fall & a brass rocking horse toy for in the box & painted over some ornies..so will have to keep looking for the perfect spot. It was too crowded by the tree & just didn't jive, I guess. ;-) nana...'tote' heaven, isn't it! I hate the mess of those plastic bins sitting around! ;-) & PM, I don't have a 'Jazz' living w/me...tee hee! I know you have a new puppy, too! Jeanne S.

hi, i just typed a beautiful reply and somehow lost it. so now this will be short and sweet. i put snowmen and birds and an I LOVE WINTER on the skates and figure they are seasonal, not christmas. i also did a pair of kids skis, but basecoated them black with spray paint first. a cute set.

They look great with those pretty red bows. I always watch for skates when I go to the TS, but have never seen any so far. I've seen some that had designs painted on them and would love to try that. Thanks for sharing that post with us. Luvs

Thanks for sharing her skates with us. I've been wanting to paint roses on mine but haven't taken the time. I will probably put some large bows on them and add some greenery and enjoy for this year, thanks to you.

Cute idea...I like how she tied them up with the bows. They look very festive.

We have a couple of pairs of old skates that we put - by the porch and by the barn... we hang them over old sleds with a red bow and pine boughs... Makes a cute
vignette for the winter.

Darn!! I should have started being a pack rat a lot earlier!! I got rid of my bowling ball when I finished with that phase and now people are using them for really neat looking gazing balls.

NOW, I could make a BEAUTIFUL decoration if I had saved the skates!

Love how you use yours, Jane. If I run up on some skates on my travels, I think I will use DS's sled and try it. No snow here, so he won't be needing it!!
