Thank you all for the info. We purchased this through our local independent appliance dealer which has given us exceptional service in the past *knock on wood*. I have a service call set up for Wednesday but today I went snooping around Lowe's to see the inner tub area on other SS bosch DWs. They all had that crimp too and it seems solid when I press on mine but I'll have the guy double check. Despite people saying it's a waste I typically pay for extended service contracts since we have 4 kids and want our appliances to be serviceable until they're well into old age. What led me to this dishwasher was the better rack (the bottom just doesn't roll out like a shot like our old GE but it does pull out straight), the sensor wash/sani rinse, the improved cleaning (other than those few items this DW tackles grime like crazy), the adjustable top rack and as an afterthought the quiet volume. I do have the high loop under the cabinet and it was that way for the previous dishwasher. This was a floor model but it had only been on the floor for a month so it could just be a manufacturing defect. Thankfully my service contract is handled in house via the appliance place which contracts with very reputable companies from my own experience. I also own a bosch washing machine that has been doing 2-3 large loads for the past five years straight (diapers, clothes, kitchen cloth) and have not had any issues so we felt we could trust the brand to consider a model after research. Like I said I narrowed it down to the two bottom rung Mieles and 3 Bosch models.

Hi There! I use outdoor silicone adhesive for most projects...and mostly I do outdoor garden art. You can look up my post about 3 projects I just did, I have the tulip flower outside with a solar light in it...luv it! And I light up my pineapple every night, (it's sitting in my Art Room till I get some outdoor wiring/plug-in done) I personally wouldn't use welbond outside....

I get my eyes checked every year by an ophthalmologist and get an updated Rx but hadn't gotten new glasses in over 10 years (!) -- mostly because I knew I needed bifocals but didn't want to bite the bullet and get them, in my mind that makes me old... What an ordeal getting new glasses was over this past half-year! I had to return 3 pair from 2 different eye shops because they weren't working out for me -- neither progressives nor bifocals. I ended up back at the ophthalmologist for my yearly check-up and explained the problems I was having with the bifocals and progressives, they said go to an optometrist, "they can do things we can't do" -- whatever that means. So I got a rec from a friend for a local optometrist and now have 3 pair of new glasses that are working out perfectly! The doc put me in variable focus lenses (I have the brand name EyeZen) and *I LOVE THEM*!! They're kinda like a bifocal but with no lines and a subtle transition between the two fields of vision (not a harsh one-two like regular bifocals). There is no loss of peripheral vision like you get with progressives. I had two pair made -- one for the computer that has intermediate distance as the main part of the lens, and close-up as the "bifocal" part. The other pair has distance and intermediate. The third pair is a single-vision distance pair that was a re-make from one of the other shops I went to. They're only single vision because they don't carry variable focus lenses -- they already had my money, this was a re-make they owed me, if I didn't get the single vision I'd be out all that money. So for me, going to an independent optical shop made all the difference because they had options available that other places didn't have. I can finally see well again!! Interestingly, my nearsightedness improved -- the optometrist said that isn't unusual as a person ages. Who knew. Lars -- you are so stylish, great glasses!

Also just to say, dishware should be scraped of hard food remnants (bones, pits, gristle, fibrous material) but not rinsed before loading. Enzymes need food soils on which to work. Lack of food soil results in detergent overdosing when pods are used, with which detergent dosage cannot be controlled/reduced accordingly to the soil level. Many dishwashers nowadays have sensors that reduce the number of water changes if minimal or no food soil is detected.
