My previous computer was also an HP, but I had it for 7 yrs and it was Windows ME which worked fine for many years but started do strange things and I was told it was time to get XP. I had a fairly new 19" flat screen LCD monitor an a fairly new LogiTech cordless keyboard and mouse, so just bought the tower, CPU-or whatever you call it! I had to have someone come transfer things for me because we have Comcast and my DH has his computer in another room and has the router attached, and I had one of the wireless adapters that needed to be switched from the old one to the new tower/CPU. I did copy some files myself & burned a CD with some info I wanted to save. I was asked for the password -he didn't say why-but I assumed to set up Windows, I didn't hover over him while he was wotking- and I gave him the password I wanted him to use-showed it to him written down, not spoken. I have come to this forum over the years for help, and have always appreciated the advice given, but in this instance I thought it would be easier (for me) to pay someone to do it, apparently I was wrong! These are the instructions I give to avoid confusion Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment from link below and save it to your desktop. Â Look for "Java Runtime Environment (JRE)" JRE 6 Update 12. Â Click the Download button to the right. Â Select your Platform: "Windows". Â Select your Language: "Multi-language". Â Read the License Agreement, and then check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement". Â Click ]Continue and the page will refresh. Â Under Required Files, check the box for Windows Offline Installation, click the link below it and save the file to your desktop. Â Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel, double-click on Add/Remove Programs and remove all older versions of Java. Â Check (highlight)any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name. Â Click the Remove or Change/Remove button and follow the onscreen instructions for the Java uninstaller. Â Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions. Â Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed. Â Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6u12-windows-i586-p.exe to install the newest version. If using Windows Vista and the installer refuses to launch due to insufficient user permissions, then Run As Administrator.[/color] -- If you choose to update via the Java applet in Control Panel, uncheck the option to install the Toolbar unless you want it. The uninstaller incorporated in this release removes previous Updates 10 and above, but does not remove older versions, so they still need to be removed manually. As Firefox now seems to come with the Google toolbar why would you want Yahoo? Just curious of course. I do not allow any of those toolbars to clutter up my valuable viewing space. I drag the space where I type my Google query up to the right of the address bar and leave the rest of the toolbar off entirely. This space also has a small drop down menu to the left of it offering my the option to use Google, Yahoo and 4 other features if I need. Regarding the Jave Console I do not have one but I do have Java installed.

in firefox check to make sure you do not have your photobucket site on the restricted list. Tools>options>privacy tab >accept cookies from sites then to the right click on exceptions in that box make sure photobucket is allowed and not in the blocked list. Also do you use adblock plus add on in firefox? you might try turning it off when trying the photobucket site it may be interfering somehow. Just go to the red stop sign ABP and right click on it and choose disable on this page only. definitely follow the directions in my earlier post right above this one and do those scans
