One thing i found out about them, they are for the folks with arms as long as a gorilla! Us older folks, when trying to start something with that kind of starting mechanism, have a problem changing the way we use to start something. I think those starters were designed by some college educated bean-brain, who never has to use lawn and garden equipment. We were conditioned to pull the rope hard enough at first, but to not yank on it, or pull it out of its housing. but now, here comes that new-fangled thing, and when us older learned folks pull the rope, we aren't conditioned to pull it way out past the back of our head to make it turn the engine over and start. I had one of them here to be fixed. It got a complete new starter and housing! The inner workings and plastic were broken beyond repair! I don't like to fix that stuff anyway, and those new things won't cross the threshold at my place!

Hanna, I also grow Loyceandrewsiana. I have a two leaf cutting and am getting my first growth, a leaf no vine yet. I have had the same problem with a potsii as far as the new leaves falling off before they mature. My potsii was potted in regular potting mix (not chunky). I repotted it and that seemed to help, I have one leaf growing right now that is getting way bigger than any of the ones that fell off recently. Back to my Loyceandrewsiana, my cutting is very woody and decided to kick out a new leaf, that is very good information to know that you can scratch the woody surface off and get new growth eventually. The search is working, but they moved servers earlier this year and broke some links. It is usually because the URL for the thread returned in the search is pointing to "forums2.gardenweb.com/...". If this happens, go up to the "Address" or "URL" field in your browser, put your cursor behind the '2' and remove it (backspace), then hit "Enter". The url should look like "forums.gardenweb.com/..." You should then be able to find the thread.

All in all, it seems to be everything i hoped for. The metal under the burners is different from other parts of it. None of it has rust, only the two strips of "moulding" dividing the sections. Both have scratches and rust, one far worse than the other. It seems very sturdy; it's heavy as hell and quite lovely. I tapped it all around, and the sides seem slightly less thick than other parts of the stove, but i still wouldn't describe them as flimsy at all. The sides are also magnetic by the way. The face of the stove, its lip which comes up to the cooktop area and the vent part seem to be of the nonmagnetic stainless. Curiously, certain parts of the cooktop are not magnetic either, but they seem to combine with a different kind of metal so that once the bowl part actually under the burners is reached, the magnet does stick there, as it will on the rusty "moulding". After agonizing over all this for almost 10 hrs straight, searching online and reading reviews, i think i'm pretty much going to stay with NXR. I have yet to test it out, though.
