Bob, thanks for this time saving tip. I've used Irfanview from the very beginning, used it on the first photo I ever took...great little fixer. But, I've always resized just one photo at a time....didn't know about "batching"....gosh, what a time saver. I also use another little online "freebie" for photo editing since I don't have a program like Corel or Photoshop. Its called Photofiltre (from a French firm I believe). I downloaded from their site and it has some pretty good little features. Those are the only editing programs I have and they both do a decent job. I resize with Irfanview, save the pix, and use Photofiltre for sharpening, contrast and any other little fixes I might need to do. It has a number of filters that you can use too. I usually save my pix at 20 to 25 percent compression so as not to lose too much resolution. I almost never save a photo at more than 1600 x 1200 pixels unless I'm going to have that particular pic printed.....then I don't resize until after printing and then usually store them at less than that...usually about 800 x 600. I don't know what program you are using to resize, but I use Irfanview and it's very easy. Just open the picture click image > resize/resample and pick the dimensions you want and save it as a jpg file at the quality you choose. Irfanview is a free program and there are many tutorials on the net. If you get it be sure to get the plugins/addons. Just google irfanview tutorials and you will find several.

Are you "typing" up a letter to print out? Or is this an email type of letter? If you are using Word, or something similar to make a letter that you are printing, - insert the picture, then click on it so the little boxes show up around it. Then put your mouse over a corner - click & drag your picture in to resize it as you desire. Make sure you drag only a corner.

Go to your pictures (graphics or signatures) in your computer, Right click onto a picture, a box will open, left click "Edit", A big box will open with your picture showing, In the top bar, click "Image", Then click "Stretch", Another box will open and you can change the sizes there. I only change the top two sizes. And I am using 50 in both (There are two more, but I leave them alone). This cuts the photo by half. Just keep playing around with the size till you get what you want, Then click "OK", The new size will now appear, Click "Files" in the top left hand side, Click "Save as", You now have a new small size picture. You can delete the larger size if you wish.
