If your goal is to watch Flash videos that you have downloaded, the you might look at FLV Player.

FLV IS Adobe Flash Player .. just with prettier clothes.

As far as I recall, there is no 64bit version for AFP. You cant download it to a Win7 OS unless you use your browsers in a 32 bit format.Found this

DAMcCoy asked why do I ask. I'm tired of Adobe's usually bloated software. Today, we don't have to depend on Adobe for creating PDFs. etc. So I thought let me check before I proceed with Flash Player to see if there was a good replacement.

To up-date my situation, after getting the first couple of responses, I proceeded to re-install Flash Player after the initial responses. I'm running an old 900 MH machine with Win 2K and 256 MB of RAM. Is that not enough for Flash Player 10?

Because when I attempt to play a video requiring Flash Player, I get into a round robin about what FireFox should do with the file. Save it or download it? When I download and attempt to open it, I get the same box back, "What do you want to do with this file?" In other words, I cannot get it to play one.

Any suggestions?

I have Adobe Flash Player 10 plugin, is that the same thing. I have 64 bit. I read the same message Genes did, but shortly afterward I tried again and it loaded and installed.

According to their webpage, Flash Player 10 should work on your system. It states:

Microsoft Windows 2000, Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0, Firefox 2.x, Firefox 3.x, AOL 9, Opera 9.5
Intel® Pentium® II 450MHz, AMD Athlon 600MHz or faster processor (or equivalent), 128MB of RAM

I followed your link and it takes me to a ParetoLogicInc site called RegCure. No more mention of Flash Player. It did a scan and came up with tons of items they claim need fixing.

But, they all affect my registries. I seem to recall somewhere it was said not to mess with registries.

Or, do I remember it all wrong? So, at this point, I've done nothing. Thought I'd bestg ask before prooeceeding.

Leave The Registry Alone!!!

I recently lost sound with FlashPlayer10. Used their unistall tool then went to a site that required flash for video/sound - from that site a light version 10 installed with approval. Not the whole flash bloated program. ..works great everywhere so far.

I know there is a lite version that is for use with pocket pc and mobile devices and the like.
