Help! Vacuum wheels scratching hardwood floor!
Comments (6)The right vacuum with the right attachments can do the job. I would suggest investing in one especially if you have more hardwood in your home and its not just your kitchen. Good models from different price ranges that are designed with the right attachments to clean on hardwood are : BISSELL Zing Bagless / Eureka Mighty Mite / Dyson DC39 Multi Floor / Electrolux Sanitaire / Miele S2121 Capri / Miele S8990 UniQ. These models cost from 100$-1500$ so it is up to you and how much you want to invest in a new vacuum for your hardwood floor. Use the right attachments as well. Of course you can also just do what others suggested and simply not use a vacuum....See MoreBest Upright vacuum (for hardwood floor)
Comments (6)We have had the same top of the line Oreck for about 10 years and use it throughout the entire house on all types of floors. It is light, gets into tight places and works great. Best part is it has a 21 year warranty. Each year we take it in for a check up and service and the store gives us a loaner for a week and then we pick ours back up. They replace any parts that are worn and it looks brand new. If anything should break on it, I just take it in and they fix it at no charge, regardless of how it broke. Things like plastic clips, loose screws, scratched housing, whatever....See MoreVacuum cleaner for hardwood floors
Comments (6)I have hardwood floors and a dog that sheds like crazy twice a year. After breaking many vacs with clogged dog hair, I purchased a shop vac from Lowes - the little one. This is not a fancy vacuum, but I spent about$40 on the vac and attachments. There are no bags, a paperish filter attaches with w rubber band kind of thing. This thing sucks up dust and hair like a champ. When I first bought it eight years ago, I thought I'd replace it when I had more money; instead, I've kept it, and it still works with no problems. If you're looking for a vacuum that works well for wood floors and won't break the bank, I can highly recommend this vacuum....See MoreAny recommendations for a vacuum to replace broom for hardwood floors?
Comments (24)d_gw - WOW!. I find it totally cool learning about the creative ways that people use to make a living. I think that is awesome. When I got married, many moons ago, we jumped the broom. I would have spent $350 on that broom. MAYBE. Well, probably not. I am cheap..... On the other hand, the brooms in your link are like works of art, and I love art! Which brings me to a art showing that I went to a couple of months ago. Half the exhibit consisted of a display of brooms from various time periods. On another note, I put my vacuum together this morning and I was so excited I decided to sprinkle some rice, bulgar wheat, cornmeal, and cherrios on the floor and see how it would handle. I recorded my results. There must be something seriously wrong for me to be so excited that I would post a video.... I first tried pencil shavings and cheerios with similar results....See Moreweedmeister
