One of the easiest keyboards on the user is the world's best kept secret and that is Keytronic Designer LT, they have come out with the keytronic original for USB connection, which is close in comfort and about 30.00 cheaper.

Click the "shop online" option of the menu bar. The USB model is: USB - Beige - RoHS Classic -U1. They sell it for 41.00, I believe Amazon has it for 30.00 or so. I'll post the link below. If you have carpal tunnel...that's what you want. The only thing better is the LT Classic or Designer LT both with PS2 connections.

I saw the Designer models in black (ignored the ugly "white" ~ beige), but they look eerily similar to the standard issue cramped style I want to avoid.

I'll have to measure the VAIO's keyboard & the MS Elite to get an idea of the KT's size diff.

This may take a while since son's playing WoW & my left hand to above the wrist is in a cast from surgery on Tues. It's been taking me forever to type since then. LOL

I have black keys with white letters, the e,a and s are all worn off.

They are actually quite large they are ergonomic sensitive to touch...its amazing...lousy pictures of them. I n have ever seen a keytronic LT or Classic in the stores, but the shape of the keyboard curves upward. I had one but it was a PS2, With the Toshiba...its USB now. Its not cramped at all. Nor is it small. I switched it for a Belkin Microsoft ergo board with two usb ports...big mistake. The LT was far far far more comfortable. Hugley more comfortable...I kinda know where you are coming from...I have a rotator cuff in my left shoulder and the pain from the slightest movement can be excruciating. Even reaching or lifting your palm, or curling it to hit the keys. That scooped out shape of the Classic makes a big difference.

The sideways mini picture is a little better here, I agree that they look cramped..but they are not, as you can tell from the sideways scoop.

Hey, now that I look closer at my keyboard, I see my "S" is wearing off too, as is my V, R, left Shift, C, D and N! :-P

You can tell from the dimensions its large (this must be box)? 18.4 in x 8.3 in x 1.9 in

18.4 inches? 1/2 a yard? I don't remember it quite that long...I do remember it being the most comfortable keyboard I ever used. I did have the LT Designer.

Yeah...but to cross reference... the decent ones are fairly expensive. In some of the packages the keyboards don't work or the mice don't work or they are incompatible or use too much RAM...the desktop sets (as they are often refered as) are a convieniece in shopping. As I said the some of them are really nice, they start around 80.00 for a halfway decent set and the price can go as high as 200.00+.

MIcrosoft has a wired ergo keyboard for 48.00 with a 20.00 rebate at Amazon.

That would bring the keyboard's price down to 28.00.

Coupled with the MX610 laser for 25.00 (with rebate) that would give you a boss set for 53.00 (with free shipping). That would be a bomb-diggity set up.

I know you found the one person out well over a 1000 positive reviews between Amazon and New Egg that couldn't keep from fidgiting with their thumb. These mice have rather nice thumb grooves and rests. Most users don't have to think about it.

One of the kids, I used to babysit, was over, and he 's just 17 and he loves my mouse. In one sitting and the first time using the MX1000 he scored 505,540 points with Winter Bells, the first Orisinal Game. Laser mice are bit differeent you don't have to make big sweeps like you do with opticals. He like most people, just grabbed the mouse with his hand put his thumb in the groove and parked it there and forgot about it. The mouse fits your entire hand...and that's why they are slanted towards the right...its like a natural resting position.

The only better mouse you could get at the moment is mine, which unfortunately has been discontinued by Logitech. But its still for sale and the lowest price is about 75.00.

The revolution is its replacement...and I guess it has some problems.

But for 24.00 and 28.00 you are not going to do better. While the keyboard is wired, you won't get crossed signals...which might be a source of the "lag" you referred to with some set ups. I've never experienced "lag" with a wireless mouse, But I've never had a wireless keyboard competing with it...the trouble is IE is going through all kinds of unfortunate changes at the moment...the new security is just about killing everything.
