Snidely, thanks for your help. Thank you for the nice photo of the view of the little arrow you were speaking of. Normally, the files have a blue icon with a crown in it signifying it is a Print Master file. This makes it easy for me at a glance. I am using an older version, one that I had on XP. Perhaps Windows 7 does not have what ever driver it takes for a .sig file. Guess it is just one more thing I have to learn to get used to. The icon for the software on my desktop is correct and I do have all my files in the software that I have created and show up when I need them. I don't understand why there are so many hidden files, or I used have not learned how to find all the file folders. An example would be trying to locate the fonts file folder to add more of my favorite fonts. Each time I go to add more fonts I have to do a search for fonts then, that file opens up. It could be I just don't know how to find all these files. I thought going with Windows 7 would have been easier than learning windows 8, maybe I was wrong. anyone still using IE6 on their computer is seriously jeopardizing the safety of their pc, MS stopped updating IE6, it is essential to update to a newer version asap. Websites are no longer supporting IE6 so many things will not work. The most important thing however is the huge holes in IE6 that are no longer being patched which leave you wide open to nasties. If you insist on not doing IE8 then definitely at the very least get IE7 NOW Windows Internet Explorer 7 for Windows XP Please understand that leaving IE6 on your pc and simply using a different browser does NOT necessarily help in blocking your exposure. Downloading and installing IE7 will take care of that so would IE8. Then if you choose to use firefox instead you are good to go but definitely update from IE6.

I believe that I'm winning against the Thrips. I'm just at the point where I recognize that my unfettered acquiring of new AV's is not best for my existing collection. I've probably fought against every known AV pest at this point. And I'm realizing that I must be more selective in whom I buy from .... and leave more time (by having fewer plants) to tend/check my plants to head off any problems early. I have just about decided to limit my plant acquisitions to plugs and/or leaves. This was a recommendation of "All Abut African Violets" Annie that I resisted up to this point. But for the sake of the collection, I think that it is best. I've never had a problems with growing plugs. They are sort of the in-between step of growing from leaves and starting with blooming-sized plants. I do want to reiterate that I have perfect faith in the plants I've received from Lyndon Lyon and Jack's Violets, and the plugs I've gotten from Bloomlovers. I also feel pretty good about the plant starts I've gotten from Bloomin' Jungle, Blue Ridge Country Baskets, and Blue Mountain Violets. I realize, through my own experience, that ANY grower can have a pest problem from time to time, but I seem to run into more problems when I buy more more full-sized plants. This is my 10th year or so of growing AV's. I'm at the point where it has become more important to grow my plants well, ... than to have every new variety that come around the pike. That being said, MyDelight is on my list for next year. But so far, it's the only item on my list. Being an Optimara, I should be able to grow it from a leaf ...

In this older complex we have units like townhouses (no one above or below, buildings with 3 units) and several units have replacement windows of different types including some white vinyl frames. So though we will need to get HOA permission, I do not expect our choices to be restricted. I was just reading on Jen-Weld's website about dual pane with dissimilar glass thickness. That will probably be a good option for us. Between units the sound proofing is excellent, they did double walls with an air gap and staggered studs. But the windows are really poor, you can barely tell if the window is open or closed when kids are screaming in the pool. Regular double-pane windows are said to make little difference over single pane, from what I've read. But the dissimilar glass thickness should help. What do you mean by "insulated" glass? I'm wondering about the effect of frame material - I'm guessing that frames with better compliance (such as vinyl) would help dampen vibrations and therefore noise, over a metal frame?
