ilmbg- It's a little hard for me to answer your question because, when you say the song is in "my music file" is this the actual file that you have downloaded and it's in a folder or what? Since I also don't know what version of Windows and Media Player you're using, or what the location of the music file is, I can't give you step-by-step directions. I don't know if it will work, but it won't hurt anything to try. I was simply trying to give you a basic computer lesson. You can try to drag the file, or cut-and paste-it. Hopefully one of these will work. Another basic computer skill: When you download something, the destination location on your computer should be automatically listed at the top of the download window: write it down if you have to before clicking to download the file. If you later can't remember where a file or folder is, you just need to go to the Start button, click on Search, and type in as much as you can remember of the file name or folder name. The start the search. It should only take the computer a minute or so to find it. I also have some general advice; please take this in the right way. You need to get some basic computer skills through a book, a course, or a friend. You are wasting hours of your valuable time on stuff that should take a couple of seconds to accomplish. Windows Update had nothing to do with it. You may have accidentally downloaded it to some other location on your computer. As long as you didn't interrupt the download, it should be there somewhere. If you try to download it again, pay close attention to where it says it's going to be saved. For reasons too complex to explain, downloads can go to different locations; you can always change this before the download starts, but you should never assume a download is going to the "usual" location. You need to carefully check the download location before clicking on the save button.
