Can't get youtube in english

Every time I go to Youtube I get the spanish language site. The videos, etc may have english language text but the page titles, links, navigation, etc. are all in Spanish. Any time Youtube opens, it opens in www.es.youtube.com.

I've tried typing in www.youtube.com; I've tried making a new shortcut; I've tried clicking on the little flag icons on the page (nothing happens); no matter what I do, the address in the bar changes to es.youtube and it goes to the spanish site.

I can't go to Help because I don't know Spanish.

Where is it doing this and how do I make it stop? Relatively new Toshiba computer, running Windows Vista Home Premium with 4GB of ram and IE7.

You can go to the top right corner of the site and you'll see the word Sitio. Click on it and it will give you a list of countries whose languages can be displayed on YouTube. Click United States.

Like I said, the 'site' list doesn't work. I click on a different country, nothing happens. Also, the original page I was having problems with has the video window placed so it covers all but the top 4 selections on the list. Guess they forgot to set the z index... Anyway, it doesn't matter because clicking on the sites doesn't do anything.

I googled youtube and got the url http://www.youtube.com/?locale=en_US&persist_locale=1. After further investigation, it seems that including the phrase ?locale=en_US&persist_locale=1 after the URL will get the 'global', ie American, version of youtube. The site list is still only working about one time out of 5. I'd blame my mouse/computer if it hadn't happened on 2 different laptops on 2 different internet connections. Bah.

Im working on a 2014 Toro XT6715-2070 149cc engine where its having issues on warm up. After starting it will run well for about 30 to 40 seconds or so then start to stumble for about 10 seconds, then runs OK for about 20 seconds, then goes back an forth doing this for about two and a half minutes then just starts to run well from then on. After its ran for about 6 minutes it still does not fully open the choke butterfly. The carb is a new OEM carb and I pulled the fuel filter to eliminate any possible issues with fuel restriction. The air filter is also new. Iv had this on other identical mowers and have not yet found a solution. The choke is one of these that mount directly the muffler and is the size of about a fifty cent piece that mounts flat on the muffler. It does not appear to be adjustable in any way. if I hold the choke rod open fully I do not experience this issue. Im sure Ill see this again so if anyone has any information for me that would be most helpful.

the kick youtube one seems to work I just tried it. Instead of putting abc you put kick in the url right before youtube. Then when it opens at the kick page at the bottom of the video you click on Kick, it then has a bar at the top with the various types of download file options choose the one you want like mp4 then on the right click on the green go, then right click on the download button and choose save link as. If for some reason you are only getting the embed link then on the youtube site at the top left corner of your video where you see the name of the video poster click that and go to their page and click on share and it will give you a url you can use. You should also be able to get a good clean url if you click on the share button directly below the video itself on the regular youtube page.

I agree, the tech support is horrible. Especially when dealing with someone who speaks English as a second language. But sometimes, it's toooo funy! I was doing Dell tech problems with someone in India, who spoke English fairly well. And then when she was telling me the numbers & letters code to type in, she said "wee." I said "huh?" She said "wee, as in walentine." I try not to be rude with English-as-a-second-language-speakers, but I just started laughing and couldn't stop. Our surname has a "V" in it and I have to spell it out for everyone. We used to say "V, as in victor." After that conversation, my DH and I have switched to "V, as in Valentine" and we crack up every time we say it.

I have the problem of carbon building up quickly on the sparkplug. Can anyone tell me what causes this and how to prevent it or at least slow it down so I'm not continually cleaning it or replacing the spark plug during one season of mowing. I was once told that it's a problem with the fuel being too rich. I use the premium fuel; I do not use ethanol fuel in the mower.

You might try to get to YouTube in one of the other English speaking countries, like Canada, Australia, or Ireland. I did a test and switched my country to Ireland, and then that became the default, and I could not get back to USA. However, at least it was in English, although I would have no problem if it were in Spanish, German, Italian, or French. Have you considered taking Spanish classes? I got an email from YouTube the other day in Italian, and while the message was written in English, all of the rest of the email was in Italian, including the email sent to me to tell me that I had a YouTube message.

Back to your problem - I think it is very difficult to get back to the USA YouTube once you have gone abroad, and so I recommend that you click on the "Sitio" link at the upper right on the screen and select "Canada" as your country. If you're afraid of Canadian French, you could select Australia, Ireland, UK, or New Zealand.

Ciao,

I had the same problem. I study in Italy and some how my youtube changed to italiano. This tweak helped me. I clicked on my user account on the upper right -> then on my user page on uppper left I changed the language option to English and off you go.
