I am going to get a whole house surge protector. But should I also invest in getting "good" surge protectors for my electronics (tv and related peripherals, computer and peripherals?). If so, could someone point me toward a good one. I wouldn't know what makes a surge protector good (and think just getting expensive is not the way to make the selection). You think Adobe Reader is bloated or a resource hog? On my PC, currently active Chrome and Firefox instances each require over 200 megs of memory. No problem, well within the capability of any machine. Opening a large-ish PDF document in Adobe Reader required 20 megs. That's a trivial amount in my book I happily use Adobe Reader and have had no problems. There are times that I wish to perform certain steps (editing, form completion, etc) on PDF docs, I see no reason to risk having an issue by using a Brand X substitute. To each his own, most roads lead to Rome.

I followed your suggestion on a file saved to my system and the file did not have the "read only" box checked, but when I open it ... it defaults to "file viewer" mode. When I try the same action on a file sent to me, selection of properties does not show the check boxes for read only, etc.

send it to me ill open and covert it to whatever you want. normaly the brother format is either pes,pec or phc. just let me know what machine you have so i can convert it to the format you need. lbetts1968@hotmail.com
