Comments (4)Haven't done it but don't see why it wouldn't work. If the brackets are heavy enough and you have one of the heavy screws near the bend of the 'L', there shouldn't be much (if any) movement, especially since you're attaching directly to the stud vs on top of drywall. In the past, DS installed the lightweight floating shelves and the drywall always ended up allowing movement around the bracket. Comments (47)It seems like in the kitchens where the tile doesnt go all the way up, it works best when the cabinets (surrounding the range/hood) also dont go all the way to the ceiling. But, in your case the cabinet to the left of the range does go all the way up to the ceiling. So, I also vote for tile to the ceiling. Comments (29)I agree that the lid should always be closed when the toilet is flushed. It’s more sanitary and also solves the old argument of seat left up. That said, you can probably get people in your household on board with this, but it’s not possible to control the behavior of guests.
