This engine was on a 42" Craftsman riding Mower. Now I have a perfectly good old engine laying in the shop with the camshaft no good. It would make somebody a good project for a few bucks ($85.00) for a new cam if a person knows how to take these things apart and repair them. The engine really had low hours on it as it wasn't used in the mowing season for the first 7 years as we traveled in a motorhome for the summer months. I only used it about once or twice a month (2hrs) in the winter months here in Florida cutting weeds that had grown in the yard. I was surprised when a perfectly running engine lost it's camshaft. Oh well...........We are up and running again.

Update: I bought a new cable at Radio Shack. Went to download the driver, found out that NOOOO!!! HP did NOT have the drivers available, for ANY recent Windows systems. Come to find out, the page that was set up with links for downloading the applications was bogus, when you clicked on the link, you got a whole page of information, but bottom line, the drivers weren't available for downloading and hadn't been since 2009. This INFURIATES me!! My Laserject 5L is completely useless now. And no, I don't want to mess around on E-bay trying to find and install this or that for my old laptop. I can't even get the printer to work with the old laptop which has a prong cable connection. The print job goes to the printer, the printer turns on but never prints. Eventually I get an error message. So I don't know what the problem is. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver from the computer over and over again, so maybe there is something wrong internally with the printer. My PC guy told me I could get a pretty good laser printer for 100 bucks, and when all's said and done I would probaby have to spend over 100 bucks messing around trying to fix the old system, with possibly no good results anyway, so I'm giving up on my old 5L friend. I am NOT very happy about it!! :(

perk2, You have a fine machine there. I doubt that a 100 photos are slowing you down. I agree with owbist (nothing will be served by you deleting them, they are simply in storage on your hard drive waiting for you to use) Some people have thousands of photos. My 2 cents on the slow down is either the HP image program or another program or mutiple programs are running in the background that you're not aware of. You can press Ctrl+Alt+Del and get an idea of what processes are running and using the most CPU. To check the programs that run at startup, get the free CCleaner it not only cleans your computer, but under tools/startup, you'll be able to delete entries that are set to run at startup. Basically all you really need to run at startup are the firewall and anti-virus protection. *note, with ccleaner, during the install uncheck google toolbar if you don't want it.

Happy to report that yesterday I drove the Jeep for the first time. Easy peasy. Going out again for the next three days - grocery shopping at Walmart, two dr's appts. the next two days. A friend is going w/me today, but after today, I'll be solo flying. Hip is soooooo much better, but the old back is the problem, which never gets better - just worse. Still thanking God for my quick healing - just three months ago, I didn't think I'd be this far along. Thanks for y'all's prayers and concerns. Keep up the good work, mosaicists - you're still the best.
