the links in owbist post are for the version of that laptop with the intel dual core processor that is very different than the celeron processor version you posted asking about. The dual core would be a much better choice however it is of course more expensive, well worth it though. They seem to use the same model number with various processor choices which is a bit confusing. Celerons just do not have much power especially if you will be using it in your office applications.

I opened the TopSpeed tab, but it only had 3 choices. They were "compress graphics when I don't have a high-speed connection", "always compress graphics" and "never compress graphics". I had already made sure the "never compress graphics" box was checked. I couldn't find an option to turn TopSpeed off, so I searched for "turn off top speed" in AOL help. There were instructions for turning it off, but at the bottom it said this: "Note: The TopSpeed® / AOL® Web Graphics Compression feature on AOL® 9.0 VR cannot be turned off or uninstalled; the client will not function properly without it." This notebook came with Vista, and AOL 9.0 VR is the only AOL that will work on it, so I guess I'm stuck with sorry graphics. I should have looked for an old one with XP, I guess. On my regular computer with XP I have the "never compress graphics" box checked and it's fine.

I am extremely security conscious obviously, I use hard nonsense passwords and rarely ever use the same password for anything , for security sensitive sites I never use the same and always use hardened password. I have one notebook I keep everything written down in, I keep it in a secure locked location, I do NOT put them on my pc and NEVER in my email account if your email is hacked they have access to every single one of your accounts and passwords that is the biggest no no of them all because email accounts are so easily hacked these days. For those doing that I urge you to reconsider!!! If someone manages to break into my house past me and my husband and dogs and our weapons and manage to steal my computers and also find the locked location of my password book and break into that and find that particular notebook then they can have it because I will be cold and dead by then. And I would imagine they will be shedding a little blood too. The only other location is in a lock drawer in a completely separate location, not in my home, in case of a fire or catastrophe here. I never allow the browser to remember passwords and never ever keep any type of password or registration info in my email since email is so insecure.

I commend your efforts to get organized. Sadly for me, if I kept all that in an binder, it would take more binders than I have room for in my kitchen. What sounds like a portable system for you, would quickly become too much stuff at my house! When something like binder gets too full, I find it harder to access the information stored there. We keep a running grocery list on a chalkboard when we've used the last of something. That way I don't need a memory jog, it's all on the list. (I enjoy erasing the information so I stay pretty current, just to start all over again.) I add to it if I'm making a recipe that's new to me and I don't have the ingredients I need in my pantry; I find the act of writing it down helps me remember. If your list is working for you however, then that's a good system. I do something similar though, with file folders in my home office. It's a good place for me rather than the kitchen, since that's where my files are, storage for stamps, pens, etc. The calendar and journals I keep with information similar to yours are all on my computer, since I don't want to keep/tote around any more paper than I have to. My goal is to keep paper clutter to a minimum, so it works for me to contain it there. My Kitchen binders are kitchen related; I only copy and print to save, Favorite recipes that are worth doing again. I do have a Kitchen Tips section that I access on occasion, so Tips are a good idea when you want to remember some things. I'm glad you found something that's working for you. It sounds like you have the basics covered.
