When you speak of upgrading "my Dell computer", you're not speaking of installing an upgrade over top of XP are you? If so, I misunderstand, so disregard the rest of my post. :) So I'm assuming you intend to purchase a retail version of Windows 7 and do a clean install. In the first line of your post you mention 512 MB of RAM, a date, and then 2.00 GB of RAM. Does that mean it now has 2.00 GB of RAM or maybe 2 1/2 GB of RAM? Either way, I'm no expert but I'd think 512 MB is less than enough, but either 2 or 2 1/2 GB would be fine. I don't know much about Office, but wasn't Office 2003 was the last version that had the old style menu, before the newfangled ribbon came along. According to this, your Office 2002 would not be compatible but according to this, Office 2003 would be. Would your 2002 macros work in 2003? I don't know. Would it be worth the expense of buying a retail version of Windows 7, as well as Office 2003(or at least Word)? To me, probably not, to you, only you can decide. Personally, since it works, I'd probably just continue using it. Continue running a good real-time AV, occasionally scanning with a couple on-demand malware tools(Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware come to mind), use Firefox or Chrome(lie detected), using the WOT add-on(trusting it somewhat less than fully), and being careful what I open(email) and what I install. All this talk about Air Infiltration is making me rethink our project. The original window schedule for our great room is to have two 30 x 72 casements in the center, flanked by pairs of 30 x 60 casements (6 windows total). We now are planning to change the 30 x 72 openable casements to fixed windows, and mull together the two pairs of 30 x 60 casements, still openable. Now I am thinking about changing the mulled together pairs to 60 x 60 fixed picture windows and return the 30 x 72 casements to being openable. All are triple-paned with low-E Ar-filled. These plans are using Marvin Integrity, but we are also thinking about Loewen. Total cost for 30 windows, including the aqbove 6, is $26,000.

Glad you figured it out. I think your hand drawings are really good, btw. Above are the minimum recommended clearances for seating. If this is a high traffic corridor, I'd make it even wider than the minimum. Is the X the dishwasher? Do you plan a prep sink in your island? If you are, I think your plan looks pretty good but in order to have room for more than one person prepping/cooking, you'd want 48" aisles between the island and cooking wall. This means you'd need a narrower island. Since people really don't chat well together if they are all lined up in a row like a lunch counter, you might consider moving the seating down the island a bit with two on the side with the current seating and one at the end. This allows for better chatting there and people sitting are still close enough to chat with the cook. And it moves them down from a prep sink placed at the other end of the island so they're not likely to get sprayed. I think I would get tired of prepping at the clean-up sink as you would need to carry things too far to the cooktop and it's just adding a lot of extra steps. So, really, consider that prep sink. From the drawings, I think you are creating a very pleasing visual space but just a few tweaks would make it more functional.

Thanks for the suggestions, both of you. I tried that earlier, Richard, and see some things, but not all. It's weird . . . even in Libraries in the Photoshop menu, my folder named 2015 Photos is missing, but everything else in that section (Libraries --> Pictures) is there, including 2012 Photos, 2013 Photos, and 2014 Photos. Aputernut, going that route the photo folders are not visible to me. I checked the Settings to make sure recently used files/folders aren't hidden, and they weren't. I didn't ask W10 to make any changes whatsoever. The photo option I referred to able was an app it wanted to add, and I refused. Windows 7 didn't mess with my photos, and I didn't want to "improve" on that. I'm not concerned that I've lost these pictures; I have them backed up, and I'm pretty sure they're still on the computer; I just can't get to them.
