For those still using dial-up

I guess there's a breaking point on in house wiring if you expect to get anything in the 50Kbps dial-up connection speed. While I hadn't made any changes in my in-house phone wiring for some weeks, the data-rate on dial-up fell to 40Kbps or lower on all calls, in all weather. I contacted Worldnet, but got no real help. Then I decided to up-plug my fax machine, a new all-in-one, that had been connected for a few weeks. Bingo! the data rate jumped to 52Kbps... so, the fax is unplugged until I want to send a fax, I never want to receive unless I expect it and I had the AIO set to not automatically receive fax'es. Just fyi for those of you still on dial-up.
