I like Verbatim brand. "Capacity most often determines the cost of your USB drive. The most common sizes found on the market today range from 2GB to 64GBwith larger sizes coming to market everyday! If you plan to use your USB drive for moving files from one computer to another and the files are rather small, such as documents or low resolution images, start at the lower-end capacities. If you plan to move or store larger documents, including graphics, videos, games or other multimedia files, the larger the size the better. In general, it is best to get the largest capacity you can find within your price range."

Here is from a page I found that may help you. I will include the link as it has a couple of pictures for you: Copying files to a flash drive on a PC: Open My Computer and see which drives are shown. Most computers, for example, have a hard disk such as a C: drive and a few removable storage devices such as a floppy drive, a CD-ROM drive, and perhaps a zip drive. Insert the flash drive into the USB port and watch to see where the USB flash drive appears. Most will appear as removable storage, but some will instead appear as hard drives. Note the name Windows is using to refer to the flash drive ("Removable Disk (G:)," for example). Open My Documents or the location from which you want to transfer files to the flash drive. Select the files or folders you want to save to the flash drive by left-clicking on them. To select more than one, hold down the CTRL key while you click and select all of the files you wish to save. Right-click on the file(s) or folder(s) you selected, then select Send to, then select the name you saw appearing in My Computer for the flash drive ("Removable Disk (G:)," for example). When the copying is finished, do not immediately remove the flash drive from the USB port. Instead, left-click on the Remove Hardware icon located in the System Tray. A window containing a list of the USB devices will appear. Left-click on the Safely Remove Mass Storage Device line that matches your flash drive (for example, Safely Remove Mass Storage Device - Drive(G:)). When you see the following message appear in the bottom left toolbar, it is, as it says, safe to remove the flash drive from the USB port; you may close the message or ignore it, as it will close itself automatically: Of course, you want to use the instructions for XP, as that is what you are running. Ignore the Mac stuff. Here is a link that might be useful: How to Use a USB Flash Drive

Hi DA, On the back of the package it says this. Interface: USB 2.0 (Also compatable with USB 1.1 Ports) Operating System: Windows Vista, XP, 2000 Macintosh 9x and higher Linux kernel 2.6 x and higher Additional Functions: Password Security ( Supported on Windows operating systems only) Doesn't that Verbatim come with a U3 application already installed. I don't see it anywhere on the package. it should put an icon on your System Tray/Notification Area. Yes it does put an icon on my System Tray/Notification Area. When finished just double click on the U3 icon and a small window will appear in the lower right quadrant. Select Eject. When I double click on the Icon a box pops up and says this. Select the device that you want to unplug or eject, and then click Stop. When Windows notifies you that it is safe to do so unplug the device from your computer. Under Hardware Devices: USB Mass Storage Device I highlight USB Mass Storage Device and then click Stop and another box pops up and says,Confirm devices to be stopped. Choose OK to continue. Windows will attemp to stop the following devices, after the devices are stopped they may be removed safely. I highlight Verbatim Store'n'Go and click on OK. I hear a little pop noise and everything in that box including the one that I highlighted (Verbatim) disappears and so does the icon. That's when I know to pull out the USB Drive. That pop noise as I call it is a normal windows sound not a problem with the computer. Kind of like when I turn my printer on Windows makes a noise to let me know it has connected. That's about it, I hope that I explained it well enough for you to understand. Have a great day. "Smiles" thirdfrt!!!

I wish I would have done that. My laptop has gone out. I can sometimes get it to stay on a minute or two. I hope I will have enough time to save my documents folder to a zip drive. Gotta buy a new one first.
