There are certainly appliances made in bisque still, but not from Bosch. You'll need to go with an American manufacturer for that. GE, the Whirlpool brands, and Frigidaire are your choices. I have had a great experience with my GE, but it is a higher-end model so that may not apply to the ones in your price range. I scored a deal because I was buying a bunch of other appliances at the same time, and the mom-and-pop appliance store I shop at felt bad for me having just gone through 3 different dishwashers in 2 years. I wouldn't pay too much attention to online reviews: all the brands have bad reviews, even Miele which is considered to be the best in dishwashers. With all that said, you seem to be pretty insistent on a new dishwasher. I would listen to dadoes and weedmeister. The issue is probably something really simple that would not be worth junking your dishwasher for and buying a newer one of lesser quality.

Bought a Kenmore Oasis washer from their Outlet Store (scratch and dent model) in Atlanta last week for half price, and have a problem. I keep getting an error code "LF" on every Final Rinse cycle. It works great until it gets to the final rinse, and then it just trickles the tiniest amount of water into the drum from the top/back edge of the machine with no agitation of the drum what-so-ever... I just hear a slight humming sound like maybe the sollenoid isn't opening fully for the rinse cycle...This slow fill lasts for about 25 minutes then the machine stops and flashes up a "LF" (which stands for Long Fill) message. I have managed to work around it by pressing stop when I get the error message and opening the lid and filling the tub with water from my laundry sink hose to cover the clothes. I then close the lid and it finally senses the water level has been reached, and it resumes the final rinse and spin. Resulting in a wonderfully clean laundry wash. I have checked the water hoses, and there is NO blockage. However, this machine did NOT come with fill hoses and I purchased two new hoses from Lowes that were anti burst/restrictor hoses, so maybe these hoses are not allowing enough water to get through, though like I said, it only happens on the final rinse cycle. Water flows in normally at the beginning of the wash cycle so I feel it isn't the hoses. Does anyone have any experience with this problem? Any info would be appreciate before I get my hubby to load the washer back up in his truck and return it to the Sears Outlet Store.

I'm glad I found this thread! I have wanted a Duet washer and dryer for three years now. We'll be buying a house / condo after the beginning of the year and was basing my desire for the Duet on my father-in-law's set that I've used. Sounds like the Duets were "de-contended" over the years to reduce their "cost" to produce. What a shame. I certainly have noticed FL washers becoming more popular over the last two years or so. After seeing people mention Bosch in this thread, I've decided to jump ship before I even board it. I've been looking through the Bosch and Lowe's web sites, although there are a number of Bosch dealers here in Anchorage. My two requirements in an appliance are A) Energy Rating and B) Noise. Our Kenmore (really Whirlpool) fridge was actually below the U.S. Energy Guide rating a few years ago. It was almost to the bottom of the energy usage on the Canadian guide, even. I don't mind mixing brands. Just as with employers, there's NO reward in brand loyalty. They can change design or build quality practically overnight to satisfy the holly stockholders. Now to go try to dig up some 'dirt' on the Bosch white goods. We use a Bosch dishwasher at work (residential level machine) and it's shockingly quiet. The prices are in line with Duet-class Whirlpool goods and the energy use seems quite low (not to mention attractive styling).

Ah, yeah... well that helped a bit.. Discovered a few things... Really concerning was the cooling fan underneath the fridge hasn't been spinning in...I don't know how long. Fan blades bent. How does THAT happen?? Also discovered that the reason the water dispenser never appeared to work was because the hose going to the dispenser was broken. So I'll have to splice that. There was a 40' roll of clear plastic tubing in the back of the fridge all these years that I figured was connected to something. One end passes out the back and bottom of the fridge (meaning the fridge is open through that hole all the time???) the other end was just a raw end at the end of the roll of tube. I figured it was feeding the water, but appears not to to. I don't know yet whether the ice maker is working... There is active water supply to the fridge, just don't know if the valve works. One of those videos pointed to water supply and valve as top 2 and 3 causes of icemaker failure. I'll see in the morning what happens. Maybe both valves are the same (for water and ice), and I can swap the water dispenser valve for the icemaker for troubleshooting.
