Problem with this forum.

Hello,

I posted this on my other thread, the one that says "Has anyone heard of Spyzooka and is it free?"

I thought I could get the information again but, I can't all I see now is Done, but with errors on page. So you will have to go to my other thread to see what the error message was for the ths computer help forum. It showed up in Internet Explorer and when I clicked on the yellow triangle with ! in the middle the error message popped up.

This looks so weird and there are no pictures either only X's.

Is anyone else having a problem?

Same here.
I was cussing thinking it was my dialup.
Had to play a game to cool off. (Smiles)

That's odd. "Wanting to cool off when it is -37F out there now." "LOL"

I see now the X's are there.

I get that login problem occasionally too, so I just log in and then use the back button to get back to my reply, and then it posts successfully. I don't know about the responses, I never request to be notified of replies via email. However, my GW email hasn't been working since last Spring, and I've contacted GW about this at least 2 times, to no avail. So I put my email address on "My Page".

i use firefox and adblock plus, no problems. i think there's an adblock plus for ie also. also clearing out your cache, history, and cookies once a month might help. general maintenance, such as disk cleanup, and defrag will help. like Mike said, use an antivirus and anti spyware. i use avira and malwarebytes. both are free and don't eat up your resources or slow your computer down like norton, mcafee, and the other big company programs.

Stompoutbermuda hit the nail on the head. I've gardened in the middle Rio Grande valley area for 22 years and each of those years has been not only challenging, but difficult and discouraging. I seem to be in a continual state of burning out. And I know of gardeners who have thrown in the towel and moved on. One was quite active on the forum some time ago. In the interest of disclosure I will note that my fit here is uncomfortable as I am a very hardheaded and limited gardener in that I, for instance, loathe xeric gardening and rarely use native plants--love 'em in their natural habitats but not in my garden, thank you. So I'm the author of my own misery. When I joined the forum ages ago there were a number of interesting contributors from the area--I exchanged seed with some of them--but I dropped out for a long while and now I see there are hardly any of them posting anymore. I don't know, maybe when you've said just about all you can say about your type of gardening, shared your general and specific gardening experience(s), learned what you could from others (actually less than I'd hoped for--books still rule), there's not much more to do but check in now and then for area-specific tidbits. And not a lot of those anymore.

Thank you Poohbear. I went to the link you show above and edited my HOSTS file as you suggested in that link. Either it was an amazing coincidence or the edits in HOSTS worked because when I reopened my browser and came to these forums, they loaded much much faster.

I think the 37 below 0 I have is colder than the 12 above you have?

I never saw any of the problems or slow downs but I use firefox with adblock plus on all my computers and normally I am on linux but doubt that had any thing to do with it. I am guessing the ad block plus is what was doing the trick.
