Comments (8)The new timer is a GE Pushbutton Timer, made for lights or fans, and it says on the package "no neutral wire needed". It has black (hot), red (load), and green (ground) wires. In the wall I have wires for both the light and the fan switches. Two black go to the fan switch, white wires are just bundled together, and ground wires are bundled together (not connected to switches). The instructions say the ground wire must be connected for the timer to work....See Morebathroom fan timer switch install
Comments (2)The black jumper is the hot jumpering power from one switch to the other and then to some other unswitched device. Connect the timer white to all the other whites. Take the hot black wires off one terminal of the switch and connect them to the black wire of your new timer. Take the wire from the other terminal and connect it to the red wire. Connect the green to the ground....See Morewhich timer switch to buy to control exhaust fan?
Comments (2)I've put one of these in one of my bathrooms and have another ready for the other when I finish it. I don't know if you can get it in the US, but it works well and is silent. It works automatically when it senses humidity, but has a timer function when you hit the button. Not sure how long it runs. http://www.dewstop.com/ Here is a link that might be useful: Dew Stop switch...See Moreyoungdeb
