Looking for a granite or similar vanity top WITHOUTa white sink!

We have a 36 inch vanity and are looking for a granite or similar material top with an undermount sink (would consider another material with an integrated sink) however everything we see has a WHITE sink..which DH does not want..where is there a selection of vanity countertops (without the vanity) that we could choose from...and maybe some sink colors other than white?

I'm not sure where you are located. At our local Builders Surplus this weekend we saw many 36" vanities. Heck, they had lots in every size. Our neighbor got one for I believe $300, something around there. He also got a sink, not under mount and hardware and I know his total was $458. I was very surprised and frankly impressed with the colors and all of the granite they had there. Just a thought.

Why don't you want a white sink?? Anything else will show soap scum. Why don't you do Corian, the sink and counter will be same color or Marblux which you can get with or without the white intergrated sink. Lots of companies make colored sinks which I'm sure you can add to any vanity you choose.

Yes, I checked into remnants with no luck...it is a 73" top, so I guess that probably limits the remnants a little. That too, we keep calling and checking on, but finally made the decision to try to stick to the cheapest thing and get what we really want at a later date...which would include a real marble top with undermount bowls and tile up the wall behind the mirrors in lieu of a backsplash. We are building a new home so unfortunately some things just have to end at the end of the budget and we can only dream of doing them later :). The cultured marble comes out to $40/sf but that includes the sinks so really without (2) sinks at probably $60/each it comes out to be about $34 each and there still, without a charge for a sink cut out which is pretty standard... The whole cultured marble top is around $450 so it is really affordable. I am just debating if I should play it safe and go with a plain white for a simple sharp contrast to the espresso vanity or if I should try playing with the matte finish on the grey swirl to add some pattern. I love the look of the real marble and yet don't want to take the look of the whole bath down with the top. I would still be doing a solid white bowl (2 tone molded cultured marble top) for that price, so it might look a little richer having the bowl be solid and just the top part with the pattern. Do you think I should try it or play it safe? I will take a pic of the sample tonight and try to post to see if you have any input for me. Thanks so much!

What color faucet looks good with black granite top???

In our powder room we have a similar sink and cabinet. Our granite is black galaxy. I went with a medium bronze look faucet. It is not as dark as the oil rubbed bronze. I faux- painted my sconces and small chandelier to match the finish and it looks very pretty. I amagine there are some products that would harm granite, but nail polish remover is not one of them. The stuff my fabricator used to clean up after attaching the granite backsplash to the granite vanity was acetone, that is what most nail polish removers are. You will probably seal your granite and it doesn't take any fancy cleaning compound to keep it clean. OxyClean and water are the staples in my household, with a microfiber cloth. I think Corian is more likely to stain than granite. Think about it, granite is a natural stone, in nature it takes alot of abuse. Last time I checked there wasn't that much difference in price between the 2 materials. For easy of upkeep and looks I prefer granite, but each to his own.

Thanks for all the help, suggestions, and things to think about. And pictures! It sounds like I could probably do any of the colors and they would work. I guess I do need to think about wanting the sink to stand out or not. Probably not. Why draw attention to the dirty dishes sitting in it?! (= The truffle does look like a perfect match, and your CC and biscotti is beautiful. I'll guess I'll have to wait until I can see more items together, or until my designer can because some decisions will have to be made without me. But not without my input! The metallic gray might be great, or maybe not given my floor will be silver. The brown I'm afraid may be too dark. I'm not really doing much black so probably not that even though I love black. I guess I'm back to the lighter choices. And was I not thinking darker when I started this thread? Now you understand why I'm driving my poor designer crazy. :)

Kohler makes sinks in about 20 different colors. They can be special ordered from most any big box or plumbing showroom and then any granite fabricator can mount them to whatever slab of granite that you choose. Dark colors like black or cobalt show water spotting horribly. The medium colors like Mexican sand are a good compromise between white and a dark color, but then I think of all of those bathrooms out there that thought that pink or yellow fixtures would be a good idea at the time. THe light colors that area almost white like the biscuit, bone, or green tea would have the longest staying power and eventual matchability and still not be white.

But, there's a LOT to be said in favor of classic white.

I have a Swanstone countertop with integrated sink in my two bathrooms. Swanstone is a corian-type of product. I love it. Very easy maintenance, and it comes in many colors and patterns.
