Some Halloween purchases

When Lynn shared her finds from Dollar General, I recognized some of them as the same things I had just bought at DT that day. I pulled them out this morning and snapped their picture to share with all of you.

I figured you would want to see a closeup of this piece. I thought it was neat--perfect for a "witchy" black/white tablescape.

Then here are my finds from a quick TS stop made while out with a friend the other day. Also found a couple items to use as part of a Halloween costume for little GD that are not in the pic. The cauldron and four little ones were $1.49. I'll probably do some lettering on the big one and put some florals and the witch silhouette in it. Little ghost and cat items were under $1 and the little witch hat was only 78 cents.

Now someone tell me why on earth I am buying more stuff when my little storage area is already stuffed!!!!

Cute things Luvs. Love the black & white sign, and the witch's hat..and darn all of it!
You know each year they're going to put out more cute things that we can't resist...so just give in and do your best to find a place to store it!
Do you have an attic? lol

You are all so sweet with all your comments. Cindy, I do hope you will continue to be a part of all the fun here. DD, Thanks and I have a set of dishes, ROYAL DOULTON OLD TRENTHAM SPRAYS, I'd like to show you sometime. Maybe some of you could help me with a tablescape with them. NCnana, I had a SS sideby side and it just up and died after 2 years so I went out and bought the Whirlpool french door with satina finish and like it so far. Yatcher, I can hardly wait to see our matching slipper candle holders and your with table setting. I will try to pay more attention and start trying some tablescapes in the future.LOL I don't have all the fancy things but I do have some neat things. Mo and Lynn thanks, the ghost is one I bought for DGD and she has wanted me to keep it at my house and it is pretty all lite up. White pumpkin bowls are something most of you probably have, right? Jane, you must like teapots, I have a DS who collects tea pots. I enjoyed seeing yours and the beautiful new red dishes you displayed on your post. Love it! If those witch shoes disappear.......I know nothing! They sure are cute as is all the rest. How could you not want to get them out and put them on display? I got most of my front porch done yesterday, but still have to finish unpacking so the inside is going to have to wait a bit. I keep buying fun pieces, but am running out of room where to put them, LOL. Miss October and Zelda are looking quite pleased to be shown off!! Always love to see your holiday decor, Cheri. I love your old looking witches hat and the stacked pumpkin dolls. You really go all out with the decorating, gal. Do you make all your dolls? Luvs and Belle, Is there any way to get rid of my post I messed up on? Luvs, I hope you find your book so you can finish your projects. They sound pretty cute and I'm sure you won't rest until you find it. How was time with DGD? I will be getting my grandma fix this weekend and can hardly wait. She is going to preschool and taking dance so I haven't gotten to see her during the week much. Oh Luvs, DGD just turned 4 in June so she must be a year younger than your GD. Our GD would rather eat steak than mac and cheese so I always ask what she wants for dinner and she always comes up with something. She's just starting to eat pretty well. So it's fun to watch when she's really hungry. I noticed the change when she was going to swimming lessons and then swimming an extra hour. My teapot, shoes, plates, napkins and rings were my DM. I'm sure a few of the witches were also. Most of them do a dance, talk or something so can't resit buying something new every year and I never get everything out to decorate every year. Our shop is so full of decorations that I need to quit buying but they keep coming out with new ones I can't resist and especially if I can pick them up when they are on sale. I will try to get the rest of my decorations out and post a few more pictures. Quit taking DH shopping with you and then you won't have to see that head nod, woman!!! Mine does that also and I just ignore it. Sometimes I'll grab a couple more things and give him the look just to show him I can.LOL Thanks for the idea of looking up bug art. I wanted a pattern I could just copy but it's not that I couldn't come up with something if I need to. I am going to buy JMP latest book. Have you seen it? She is a favorite of mine for sure and I can hardly wait to get it. No bugs in it though. I don't know if Sam's Club is part of WalMart but we will be getting a new Super WalMart near us so that may be nice. They have been trying to get the ok since 2003 and just got a ruling this week for the go ahead. Will close and try to get back here this weekend. Punk I don't want to sound negative but last year my camera quit working right and I called the company and was told they didn't know how to fix it so the kids bought me a new one for Christmas. Seems like no matter how expensive they are, we only get 2-3 years out of them before something goes dingy. We use ours alot so maybe thats why.

You are not hurting anyone by buying so why not!
When dh complains I tell him what I bought does not add up to what he has spent on a glass of wine when we go out over the years! I don't drink, but I shop! :)

You are all so RIGHT and so WONDERFUL! So sweet of all you "enablers" to help me justify my purchases! LOL I tell him he is just lucky that I discovered "treasure shopping", Dollar Tree, and the 99 cent stores or it would be costing allot more! LOL

Jane and Magpie, I am sure you are right--I will find someplace to stash it all after the holidays are over. In fact I spent an hour or so clearing out another shelf in my hallway linen closet (it's never seen linen, but that's what I call it.) Already have the bottom two shelves stacked to the brim, so now trying to clear out at least one more shelf to use for more fun decorating goodies!

Finding cute things at bargain prices is just so much fun--and yes "irresistable". ;o)

Cute things and you can't beat the price! Your little DGD will enjoy seeing your Halloween decorations a lot. You can always tell DH you're doing this stuff for HER, might be an easier pill for him to swallow. LOL.

Luvs...I took your advice & added a "Crow" to the old barnwood witch...here she is ...remember this is just an old barnboard & minimal painting...but I did add some lime green to her eyes as you suggested on a thread (somewhere)...couldn't find it, so added to your Halloween one. Thanks, Luvs!

How'd I miss this post?

You found some cute things, Luvs. I'm going to go and get 4 mini pots like yours. I think Kathleen used them in a tablescape last Halloween and I wished I had some then.

Jeanne, the is witch great. But you have her standing by that ugly wheel that I hate so much. Why don't you send the wheel to me? That way, your witch won't have to compete with such a rusty old item.

OA, the top two pictures were Dollar Tree purchases, the last picture was my TS finds when my neighbor and I went for lunch one day. Luvs

I totally understand your sense of it being fun and irresistible to get those bargains!! I think it is so much more fun than just going to the store and buying something off of the shelf at full price (except the dollar stores of course!)

Jeanne, I really like the green eyes and the addition of the crow. She is just perfect for that rustic setting with your wagon wheel. (you might want to put a motion sensor or camera to keep an eye on that area--sure sounds like "someone" would like to swoop in for that wagon wheel!) LOL
