Affordable counter depth refrigerator recommendation?

Hi,

While I felt somewhat competent to research a stove (I know what I'll do with it and what I am looking for) I am clueless for refrigerators. All I know is that because my kitchen is small, a counter depth will help me with space. When I went to an appliance store, the salesman I had been recommended said that Jenn-Air (or one of the other brands that are made by the same supplier) was better than GE and recommended the JFC2290VEP, which is a tall (72") "counter-depth" (as in: the doors will stick out).

Is that a good choice? This would be $2,800 which is starting to add up quickly... What are other good options, and can one spend less for a good fridge? I do not use my freezer much (mostly because I forget what I put in there, so it just holds ice, fries, ice cream and such) but usually have a fair supply of veggies, cheese, leftovers containers and bottles in my fridge.

We're four in my house half the time, so I thought it was nice to go for the slightly taller fridge for those times.

Thanks for any advice!
