I have a navy & white runner between my island and sink/countertops at our lakehouse. There's plenty of foot traffic back there, and lots of food prep. Everything has washed off that rug - spaghetti sauce, blueberry jam, spilled coffee, etc. I've had it for 4 yrs. I spot clean it and vacuum regularly. Early spring and late fall I put it out on the deck on a nice day and give it a good sudsing w/ detergent, hose it off and let it thoroughly dry in the sunshine. It looks practically new. My daughter has the black and ivory striped one under the dining table where her family (w/ 2 little ones) eats every meal. She cares for hers much as I do mine. She's had it for 2 yrs and it looks great. Between us we own 8 Dash & Albert rugs. Two are woven cotton & the rest indoor/outdoor. I can highly recommend, but would advise a rug pad for the runner to prevent slipping & sliding.

WOW! That is horrible! The comments from others at the site are funny and quickly go awry; but this first one was cute - "Dazzle camouflage in its civilian setting." "Edit for more info: Dazzle camo aimed to confuse the observer as to ship type, heading, and speed - all crucial when you're a submarine trying to figure out where to shoot your unguided torpedo so it'll hit the target minutes later. However, dazzle schemes, due to their need for highly contrasting colours, are almost always contradictory to the desire for concealment - i.e. blending with the background. This particular scheme was an ad-hoc application that actually had some use in resolving this dilemma, though discovered only after it was applied. Basically, alternating black and white stripes would blend together into a low-visibility grey colour at long ranges, making them difficult to spot at long range. As the ship gets closer, however, the stripes resolve themselves, providing that confusion factor. Thus, it was a scheme that had the best of both worlds. In theory, you could even mathematically determine the ratio of black and white so that you know the distance at which they blend into grey, making them useful for different conditions. However, they never realized this until the submarine threat was basically over and dazzle schemes were no longer needed. Edit 2: this is from the Second World War."

I would say my style is traditional/transitional. I like beachy and rustic as well. I don’t want a gray or beige rug because I feel like a rug is one way to start to add in some color. I think the photoshopped picture with the rug in the room is great and shows how adding something like that can enhance the room and add color. I was planning on changing out the couch pillows for navy and so,etching else. I like the coralL! I do stripes but am not sure if that rug may be too much? Prior to renovating this room (along with the connecting kitchen) everything was dark wood. Dark wood walls and kitchen cabinets. So I am enjoying the lightness now but don’t want totally monochromatic. Not sure If that makes any sense or is helpful

Some grocery stores suggest 3 tips, small medium and large, and I pick each time depending on circumstance or make up my own amount- the weather, the groceries (if I buy heavy items like cat litter, etc.) but also on service. Although I describe exactly where my apartment is located there have been a few times when it was delivered to the wrong apartment across the street. and I tipped the neighborhood kids to bring my groceries over (the lady who lives there gets wrong deliveries all the time, her apartment number is the same as the street number and the delivery people get them confused)
