Thanks, ladies. Yes, it's a lot of fun and it seems like the ladies are really outdoing themselves every year. I do have an idea for next years ornie, in fact I have almost everything I need to make them. I saw on FlickR some ornaments that look like those candied fruit slices, you know the ones you see in the nice candy stores, they look like a slice of orange, or lemon, lime, etc. They make them in citrus colors and red.... well, these were felt, 2 colors in each one, like dark green/lime green or dark yellow/bright yellow, etc, and covered with "sugar", which was a square crystal glitter. Simple, but VERY CUTE. I was thinking of making a set of 3 for each lady. I bought all the stuff to make them in case my ships didn't turn out. So I'll be making those, and I won't wait until early December, either! lol bRAT Kat- those are his little mittened hands you're seeing, ya perv! lol It's not a good photo, I realize that. He is absolutely the most charming, old-fashioned little guy, we all flipped over him. The 2 girls on either side of me, their guys had glittery felt shoes- mine has plain. I told them their little guys were gay. lolol And their little scarves are so cute, a tiny button holds it in place. He is perfection. I recommend these kinds of parties to everyone. What a great way to get together, have lots of fun and good food and be creative AND get a huge assortment of ornies. Oh. I don't do a tree anymore, I'm sad to say. Too many cheesy cats in this house that would tear it up. I keep some of the ornaments and share some with friends. I have a lovely assortment in boxes! lol Thanks, WC, about the cat. I hope to hear from the vet this morning that I can pick him up. Fingers crossed!

Thanks, everybody, I'm glad you like them. I mostly made them while sitting on the sofa at night, very little time on the sewing machine. And I had to fray-check the snot out of those ears to keep them from coming apart when sliding onto the chenille stems. Using my tiny paper punch worked great for making little holes. Kat, that's a great idea but I think I'll have to use one of those little miniature candy bars as a kiss is too round, but a little flat one will fit perfectly, I think. It'll give this little bag some weight and make them feel better. The scented q-tip is a great idea, too, Terri-I'll suggest that to them and they can do their own. Maybe a nice pine scent! Pine-sol! lolol Maybe slide it into a little tube so it doesn't make a stain on the wool....

They're all really good and you're making me miss the ornanment swaps I used to get to attend. I left that company is 1993 and only stayed in touch with one of ladies, but not the others. I still see her, but she lives so far away now, no ornament swap. I noticed there are three running themes at these things. I now have enough ornaments for an all Santa tree, all angel tree, and all snowman tree. BIG grin! Sure, there are others in there, but those are the main three. I love it when someone does something a bit different like your elf on the shelf. Which is adorable! I meant to say that the other day. Looking good! One year, I did itty-bitty teddy bears with plaid vests and big red satin bow ties. Another year, I embroidered snowflakes in metalic thread on cross stich material that went over a 1 inch button. Then I braided the leftover metalic thread and wrapped that around the button. My two favorite different ornaments? A gingerbread boy and girl pair made from punched tin and a girl made entires of tiny bobbins strung together with pretty ribbons. Here is a link that might be useful: punched tin like this...

I'm with adellabedella. You have to tell the ladies that you can't stopâ¦.we look forward to it. I'm sure the cross is lovely but doesn't show up as well in the picture. My favorite, the clothespin dolls. Reminds of many years ago when I made clothespin place card holders for Christmas. They were a lot of work and I should have collected and saved them over the years, but I didn't. I let the nieces and nephews play with them.
