Nice to see a fellow New Mexican (((hugs))) As a matter of fact I worked in the City Licensing Department and you are right. Any food that is unpackaged and repackaged you have to have a Food Purveyors Permit. What they request are commercial kitchens. But if you do it out of your own home, they can license for that also. I personally have one of those licenses and in all honesty, they are very simple to obtain. I have a Cake Decorating Business, a Catering Business and also my retail Arts and Crafts Business where I also use edible items. I had to get a license for each one separately. But, like I said it isn't hard to do. So, what part of NM are you from? How are you liking the NM weather we are having all of a sudden??? BRRRRRR Well, glad to see you here!

I have usually made toffee (recipe below), but when I had pecans from my family in Texas, I would make chocolate turtles, using a Madeleine mold, but they were very labor intensive. Toffee 1 2/3 c raw almonds, (7.5 oz) 1 c unsalted butter 1 1/2 c sugar 3 Tbs. light corn syrup 3 Tbs. Water 12 oz. bittersweet chocolate Place almonds on a cookie sheet and toast in 350ð oven for about 15 minutes, stirring every five minutes. Chop the almonds, and then sort out the larger pieces into a one-cup measuring cup. Save the finer pieces in two 1/3 cup measuring cups. Combine butter, sugar, corn syrup and water in a medium-size heavy saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, to 300ðF on candy thermometer. This may take a while if the room is extremely humid. In a dry kitchen, it may take only 15-20 minutes. (A teaspoonful of syrup will separate into brittle threads when dropped in cold water; the color of the mixture will be like peanut butter or caramel at this point.) Remove from heat, and stir in the cup of coarser almond pieces. Pour into a buttered 13x9x2" pan, spreading quickly and evenly - you can shake and tilt the pan to distribute the mixture. Cool the mixture, but not until brittle. Turn out onto waxed paper, and return to the pan with the waxed paper underneath. Melt chocolate in the top of a double boiler over hot water; remove from heat. Spread half the melted chocolate over top of candy; sprinkle with 1/3 cup nuts; allow to cool for about 20 minutes, or until chocolate has set. Turn candy over and spread with remaining chocolate and sprinkle with remaining nuts. Let stand until set in refrigerator or freezer. Break into pieces. Makes l-1/2 pounds. *Note: you can use a somewhat larger pan or combination of pans instead of the 13x9â if you want the candy to be thinner, but you may need more chocolate and nuts for topping. **Make sure you do not add any salt to this or use salted nuts, or else it will taste like peanut brittle. Almonds are traditional, but you can substitute hazelnuts or Brazil nuts and get similar results. Lars

Thanks! Oakley -yay for Aquage! That brush looks amazing. Funkyart which style do you think runs wider? My feet feel much better. My left foot doesn’t hurt at all anymore when I have them on. The right foot still does but I suspect it will take awhile for that foot to settle down. I really need a pair of comfortable (standard work with almost anything black) boots/booties but don’t really like their styles. Theres one that’s ok but I wish the toebox was shaped a little different. Going to order more sandals. Im going to look into some of the other sandals mentioned here too. Thanks Eld. Yeon -The small bottle (they have a large size too) has a dropper and I just put a drop on the applicator and run it along the top. Another drop for the bottom and drop right at the beginning of the spooly brush to use on my brows. It sounds like a lot but I have over half a bottle still. I don’t recommend brushing the oil on the lashes with the spooly brush (mascara wand) because the oil is so thick it just beads up. It’s kind of gunky feeling but doesn’t irritate the eyes at all. I do it right before bed and sleep with it on. In the morning I just rub my eyes. It seems some of its absorbed in because there’s less. ETA - Thanks for suggestions about exercises. I always have trouble with the boys-- my db and bils. I got them all yeti coffee tumblers. I ordered the 30 oz size and laughed when they arrived because they were so ridiculously big. One of the orders ended up being delayed so I bought another locally and when the package arrived, I kept it for myself-- I use it ALL the time! I love the big size and while they do keep coffee warm, they are even better at keeping drinks cool! I now have 4 of them for myself! some other ideas.. a milk frother, cards against humanity, nostalgic candy from their childhood, lens cleaning cloth/cleaner, travel pepper grinder (one of my fav gifts ever), a new or favorite book, an artisan cocktail book, stone drink cubes, heirloom beans or rice, battery tester (I just had a conversation about how I need to get one-- I always used my tongue!)
