Personalized Coffee Mugs

Does anyone know how to make personalized coffee mugs with pictures and sayings on them? For example: I would like to make a couple with my children's pictures on them to give as presents for Christmas. I would also like to make a few to sell at various craft fairs. I have been searching the Internet, but do not see anything. Many Thanks!

Some of you guys had me cracking up... Marlene, your first thought was target practice! LOL. And I thought I knew you well, Girl. Apparently not. ;o) Same with you, Jeanne, for being tempted as well. Caroleena, your Mayor would need sedating? LOL, love it. As for "Wasps, spiders, mosquitoes, snakes and dust"...as pretty as this place is, I have a feeling the owner either doesn't have much problem with them or has a way to take of it. Considering the number of cups, I imagine a lot were 'donated' and rest bought at thrift stores for a quarter each. And over a long period of time. This is some SERIOUS mug collecting. However, if you drink that much coffee, you'd WHIZZ right thru building this. LOL Nona, I bet you could find something neat to do with Bill's mugs! That would be a wonderful project for your garden. hugs, Karen

I couldn't believe how easily coffee stains disappeared when I put a little baking soda in the mug, added just a few drops of water to make a paste and give a wipe. It's gone! Not bleached, but gone. And it's just a wipe. No elbow grease wasted, no big expense for special scrubbers, tablets or otherwise. But if they're really scratched up I'd be careful and consider replacement especially if they're deep scratches. I understand how it is to have favorite mugs. Some just hold the right amount, hold the temp well and have the handle that fits the hand well so maintaining the "good" mugs is important.

Hi tj starkey, This might be a bit of an overkill but have you considered using rubber cement or epoxy? It should be fine for what you'll be using it for. Rubber cement is malleable under varying temperatures and epoxy is meant to harden and hold into place whatever two pieces that you want stuck together. It's also quite durable but relative to rubber cement, it won't remain as flexible, relatively speaking. We hope this information will help you make a more informed decision on your home needs. luckyLaLa, I think I answered your question on another forum, but here are some instructions for making a personalized mug, water slip decal mugs.
I bought my water slip decal paper on Ebay and followed instructions similar to the ones at this site. I used a clear acrylic spray on the decal after printing and then again on the mug after applying the decal. It's very important to let the decal dry thoroughly on the mug before spraying.

Try Walmart? You can upload a picture to their website and they'll make one for you. Just check their gifts link in their photo finishing part.

I just ordered a couple as Christmas gifts from Sony Imagestation website. They're on sale at 30% off - a white mug is $9.09 and a black mug is $10.49. You can upload photos and select a layout that has anywhere from one to ten different photos. And you can also add personalized text. I figure $10 is a great deal on a personalized gift.

Plus, they have free shipping going on if you order before midnight tonight (12/3/05). Good luck!

I have to add one more comment, knowing this is an old question.

I decided that this would make a great Chrismtas gift. So I uploaded a picture of the two kids we are raising and had Walmart put the picture on a simple white mug. They gave it to their grandmother for Christmas. She said it was the best gift she's ever been given. It turned out perfectly, and I felt the price was right too.
