I finally got my Fall stuff pulled out and did the familyroom and front porch. Here's the inside stuff.

Oh Karen...what lovely Fall decor...I love those gourds by your fireplace..are they ceramic? They are so different. That tabby cat is so cute sitting on top of the wagon and he fits in so perfectly! Your pumpkin flower arrangement is stunning. Is that also ceramic? You did a fabulous job on the stacking plates. I love the arrangement and how you layered it all.That looks like it took quite some time to put together. It's really beautiful. Also, I see you've got quite a collection of bunnies, 'peeking' out here and there. I love what I see..even the one 'In' the fireplace...lol I can see you worked really hard and it all turned out so beautiful, and looks so festive. Don't you just love this time of year?

Slinkey, all the gourds are ceramic. The geese gourds on the mantle I got last year from Tenderheart or Terry's Village catalog. The green shiny gourd on mantle came from Hobby Lobby last week. Got a little matching pumpkin.
The two small ones on the hearth I found last year.
Yep, I've got quite a few rabbits. A few large ones scattered around the house, and the medium size ones are on those built-in book shelves you get a glimpse of to left of my f.r. fireplace. And then I have a curio cabinet with little bunny figurines in it. Then there's my yard ones....LOL. I love bunny statues!

thanks for comments on all, especially my plate stack. It took about 15 min to put together is all. The pumpkin floral is faux pumpkin from Michaels, hole cut in top, and silk florals stuck in it. I just kind of "loaded" it. Easy. And yes, I love all the Fall colors. Sure helps my mood when its still 100 outside. LOL

Karen, You missed your calling, you should have been an interrier designer. You decs are absolutely beautiful. I too love the little squirrels, they look so real. You seem to have the knack for knowing just what to put together. I have taken a terrible head cold today, and just feel lousy, so I hadn't been on my computer until just a little while ago, so I am behind on posts. You said you wished you had my will power about not buying Christmas decs. Believe me, it is not will power, it is already having more than I can possibly use. There was years that I couldn't pass up Christmas decorations, at ys, ts or after Christmas sales. Every year when I start getting things out, I find things that I don't even remember buyung. Durring the month of Nov. my time is usurally spent in the wreath barn (remember, we live in Christmas Tree Country) and I always try to make enough money to do all my Christmas shopping making wreaths. I started doing this yrs ago when my kids were small, and I needed the extra money really badly at Christmas.When they all grew up and moved out, making wreaths had just became such a tradition, that one year I didn't make any and it really didnt seem like Christmas. I usurally make a few hundred wreaths from the last of Oct to the 2nd week in Dec. I gues thats one reson that I never worried much about Halloween or Thanksgiving decorations. I usurally have all my ks and gk here for Thanksgiving Thursday and then right back to the barn an Fri.I really don't know hardly how I am going to do it this year, what with babysitting DGS, but on of my DGDs says she will help me with him. Guess time will tell... I also enjoy your albums; you do so much to keep this forum interesting. Janet

Awwww! You guys sure know how to make a gal feel good. Thanks for all your sweet comments. Most all of my items are either found on sale cheap or just TS finds. I still am amazed that I got that gold cloche at Marshall's last year for only a dollar or two--also got a red one at the same time. So what did you think about the wreath holder? I sort of like it because it allows more height in an arrangement. But I don't like seeing the metal bar through the wreath (or the cup on the wall)! LOL Two of my neighbors really really loved it and are on the lookout now for one for themselves. I do love cutting out wood pieces and painting them. I especially like the cutesy ones. I don't do scary Halloween either, have a little GD and don't want to scare her or the other little ones. Oldalgebra, do you mean the white plate with leaves? That one is glass and was a TS find a few years back. It is always so fun to share on here. I'm so enjoying all the posts and wonderful pics from all of you too. Luvs

Karen... WOW!! I had no idea. I know Dept 56 has pricey items...but had no clue on this item.. This WAS a great deal. When I saw it at GW, DH had just gone down the same aisle, but missed it (man's shopping). I followed behind him, and spotted it right away. He was so surpised that they even had it there and of course the price. The other day we went into one of the little shops in town, where they have a large display and selection of Dept 56. DH likes to go in there before Christmas to see if there's any retired pieces. They're usually discounted. Well, ALL of Dept 56 Christmas was 50% off. When we questioned the owner..she said she was not going to carry it anymore. There is not much interest anymore from customers, as in the past. We saw the same thing this Summer, in Cape Cod...many of the stores who would have large displays...either cut back on stock or did away with it completely. We are so disappointed to know, this might be another hobby that will be a 'thing of the past'...just like Train Sets under the tree. :( Thank you Karen for doing the research on the Pumpkin Wagon...I will treasure it even more so!! lol jane

DH & I had some runnin' to do Fri. so stopped at HLobby & got a couple more metal trees for gifts (40% off) & the little metal frames (jewelry 50%) ...so I'm tossing around ideas. Got one DD a black metal tree cause she accessorizes w/black in her LR. Found some little resin silvery snowflakes there, too (40% off) ... so here's progress I'm making...think I'm going to use some 'beading' with some of these ornies. Closer up ..the snowflakes are really silver w/black antiquing & the glass frames have 2 glasses that you put pic or whatever in-between...I think this may look good as I'll print doubles. Also this afternoon I got DH to build a window box to go w/paned old window I had painted awhile back...we got it built & attached & I painted it white ...now am accessorizing it for Old World Santa I got earlier this yr after holiday sales at a consignment shop. But I need to dig in totes for pine greenery (ugh!)...here's how it's lookin' so far with greenery I already had nearby: Closeup of Santa: Windowbox: What am I doing!!! My Fall decor is not even started on the porch yet! Inside the house is done. Ummmmm.....LOL! Jeanne S.

Karen, you are getting really good at those stacked plates, the scale on this one is just perfect, looks really nice. Congrats on a job well done. I love the florals in the pumpkin too, and your stacked pumpkins as well. Everything just looks great! Luvs

Everything is nice, love the bird by the candlesticks, cute couple on stacked plates & scarecrow on top give it personality!! VEry inviting look!! I love all the bunnies around too. I'm a bunny collector too!! Jan

Karen - Wonderful job on your fireplace hearth and mantel. The oranges really pop against the colours of the brick and paint. Those ? crystal pillar candle holders are so pretty. Your stacked plates look terrific, all colour-coordinated and balanced just right.

What I find especially nice in your photo is that you have a pic of Jason over your mantel. You probably always have it there but I'm sure on the occasion of Thanksgiving, it has special meaning.

Looks really nice!! I love all the gourdes! Need to get myself some pumpkins to stack. My foyer is lacking festivity. I bought a real blue pumpkin the other week because I thought it was different but it's just not working for me for fall. Not sure what else to pair with it!

At any rate, I love the bunnies too! Do you just have ceramic pieces of fruit in the glass jar?

DD, yes that portrait of Jas hangs there all the time. It was one taken for his retirement, and on him becoming a Reserve Officer. They use this for their recruiting poster now. Jason didn't want the portrait and gave it to me, as I love it dearly.

Shee, the items in the glass jar came in a bag from Walmart.
I think in their popourri-candle section last year. They are just resin or something like that. I got a couple of bags as I love the mix of colors and different things in them. As for your blue pumpkin, that sounds lovely!! I think it would 'pop' in the midst of other pumpkins and gourds and some fall leaf-berry garlands. Over on my Garden Junk forum, blue things in the yard really add so much to a vignette we all think. I'd love to find a (faux) blue one to use myself. I like the faux pumpkins and Michaels has so many different ones to choose from.
Your blue one would look great in this kind of setting too....(done by Margo, robolady).

Love what you did. The plates came out beautiful, love the scarecrow on top. Love the candle sticks and that wagon with the cat. Everything looks so festive.

Wonderful! I love those gourds on the mantle as well...and scarecrows too. I need more scarecrows for my "harvest" decorating. Lovely job!

Girl, you are doing great. Love your vignettes and your stacking plates are great too.I am especially fond of your Fall outdoor display, that way not only you get to enjoy, so do your neighbors! Your picture of your son over the mantel is so wonderful and sweet, he is very lucky to have you as a mom too!

Karen, I especially love your mantelscape. The little orange wagon with the cat standing on the miniature pumpkins is cute and very original! I really like your bouquet in the pumpkin next to the fireplace, too.
