Hello Everyone, Hi HUnter!!! I know how it is on the Palm forum!!! LOL That is another "love" that i have... but i cant plant any more in the yard. Containers is a different story!!! : ) I just picked up a Christmas Palm and a Pigmy Date Palm at a local stand ..i couldnt pass them up!!! Glad you are having a great time with the Palms and the Plumeria... You are so lucky to have this interest at such an early age...BRAVO!!! Keep up the good work, i know some people dont understand the excitement of seeing a seedling, but as you know i do understand!!! Dont let anyone discourage you from the joy that you find in your success!!! My favorite? Oh MY!!!! LOL... that is a very hard question.. This summer my over all favorite is the Lani!!! The beauty of this tree has been such a joy!!! The Black Tiger has been close to the top as well!!! The deep color of this red is impressive. Last summer i really enjoyed Daisy Wilcox..the beauty of the blooms were amazing as well as the scent!! Very fragrant. OK..now you have me thinking of another favorite... Elizabeth Thorton Lemon Drop!!! this is another must have. With the cold approaching up your way, yes...take them inside. I dont let them see temps drop below 45* Some let them go lower, but i watch the lows forcasted and i will bring them all inside when the te,ps start to drop here in VB. I think i have a few more weeks left. We are having an cold spell here, but i think the temps will bounce back to normal. I have left them alone. You are in Ohio, so you need to bring them in. They will go dormant and will drop their leaves. You can let them just relax during the winter, but dont forget to water just a little. It is hard the first winter when they go dormant with the needs of water. Just remember even thought they are dormant, they do have their needs...water very sparingly. The tree that i sent to you is potted in Al's Gritty Mix and needs more water then the average mix. This mix is very fast draining and will need to be watered a little more. You want to keep it alive even while it is sleeping. It really depends how you store them . Send me an e,mail and i will help you with the needs of your trees... Keep up the good work Hunter.. Hope school is going well for you!!! Those Foxtail seedlings look great BTW!!!! The palms have been in the ground for about 17 years. They have been fun to grow and do make my day when i come home and see Palms here in VB. I planted them when very few would even think about growing Cold hardy Palms in my area. Its amazing how things have changed : ) You see all sorts of Palms here in VB now.... They are definately gaining speed up the east coast!!! Take care, Laura in VB

My laundry room is 11' X 9'. My set up is with washer and dryer on across from each other, on the 11' walls with counters running the length of wall on each side of the washer & dryer. The washer & dryer do stick out a bit further than the counter so that only leaves about 4' width for walkway. I had the Bosch 500 Nexxt pair for about 3 months before I returned them due to problems and replaced them with the Whirlpool duet Sport HT (8500). I didn't realize just how much bigger the Bosches were until I got the Sports in there, then it dawned on me how the Bosches seemed to overpower the room. When I first got the Bosches they did look big to me but I thought it was because I was used to the look of my Kenmore top loader. What I like about the Sport is that it is the same height as my counters and don't stick out as far either. I guess I wouldn't have really minded the Bosches being bigger and taking up more room if they would have worked for me, but I do now like the smaller look & space saving of the Sports. As for smaller loads....it's just the two of us now so I do have smaller loads at times. The Bosch seemed to be picky about them, but the sport does well with them, maybe partly because the Bosch is 3.8 and the sport is 3.6 capacity? It also might be because the Sport is a true horitzontal drum, Bosch is tilted drum.... my experience with the two machines is the horitzontal drum is way better. Doesn't tangle things into a wicked tangled mess of a ball either. I too like jcrowley had a Kenmore super capacity top loader before switching to the FLer's and I was expecting the FLer's to be bigger than I thought. But I guess to answer your question, sorry for the rambling, no I don't find the FL's to be too big.

Who has FL washer on second floor??
Q

I shut the water valves myself when my machine is not in use. I guess that would not help if a hose or solenoid valve broke while the washer was running, but I'm home then and would hopefully notice. I don't really understand why the amount of water used in a cycle would matter if a hose or solenoid valve breaks. In fact, if a solenoid valve breaks, water is going to spill out of the machine a lot sooner in a FLer than a TLer. I don't have a drain pan, but my first floor laundry room has a floor drain next to the washer (the floor slopes slightly to the drain) so between that, and shutting my valves when they are not in use, I feel pretty safe. And I have had a solenoid go out on a washer in another house. Good thing I had a basement laundry room, what a mess. Oh yeah, My mom has had to replace the water hose for her refrigerator 5 times in 15 years because of leaks (they tend to crack) which is why I don't have water and ice in my fridge. These flow restrictors also work when a machine is on correct? So if a solenoid valve broke while the machine is running it would sense that too much water was flowing and shut off the flow? How does it shut off the water? Does it use a solenoid valve also?

know anything about ormond beach, fl?
Q

not many friends have stayed in ormond and even fewer recommend it lol. during 2004-2005 and 2008 alot of the beachside small places really took a big hit from hurricanes and many have not done much to fix their places up apparently, especially mom & pops and motels. everyone recommends going to daytona where there are alot more choices and because of that there are better places too. there are your major chain places like comfort inn, holiday inn, hilton etc...and a couple recommeneded ones were Perry's Ocean Edge and The Shores Resort. hope you can make it to FL, there's lots to do here! BTW spring training in is full swing at Disney and in Tampa/St Pete :-) & unfortunately the chicago cubs play cactus league ~ liz
