I have a matte black laminate counter top in our second kitchen/potting room/junk room/butlers pantry. LOL! It really has turned out to be a catch all room because it's the first room coming in from the carport area. Thank goodness we have a front entry for guest. I have to warn you that the black laminate will show EVERYTHING from scratches, dust and rings from drinking glasses. I really don't care for it. I am constantly wiping and cleaning this countertop even if it's clean. I'm so glad I didn't put it in the main kitchen. Waaay too much upkeep IMO. Instead of replacing it I'm going to sponge paint this countertop like equest17 on the home decorating forum did to her Before And After-Avocado Bathroom Update. Amazing transformation! See link below. Here is a link that might be useful: Painted Laminate

The counter top came to us with the cutout for sink and a black ring (Corian - I think) You can get a different color ring depending on the color of counter top you choose. The contractors put the sink in with silicon and clamps. MY KD ordered the sink and counter top together from the same company, but not sure who the company was.

Ask all this from the place you are buying the floor from . If you want any help here we need pics of the flooring you are asking about. We have no clue as to even the place you are putting it . Please read your question and think how we can help with really no info.

@RNmomof2 zone 5 thanks for your input :) I searched deeply on Houzz's threads and saw several threads where people posted photos of their own kitchens (but not the exact same ones as I am looking) so I though I might get some answers showing these particular designs. it is partially because I don't like the look of stone and don't want to go with quartz as I find the price difference with laminate vs durability (resistance to stains, scratches) not worth it. Here I could do all my countertops for 900$ with laminate and it is 3500-4000$ minimum for quartz or stone. We probably won't stay here for more than 5 years - and laminate is easy to swap if we end up staying longer and want to go with stone later on. I looked a lot at both Formica and Wilsonart websites and patterns, I have my mind set on Wilsonart because of that and I tested the samples for scratch resistance and staining and they held up well. I guess my best bet now is to return to the fabricant and ask to see full sheets!
