Bidet/washlet/advanced toilet seat questions
Comments (8)I'm close to choosing my first toilet seat bidet. I'm considering these: BB BLISS 2000, BB 1000, SWASH 1000, COCO Bidet 9500RS, Coway BA13, & TOTO 300 (with or w/out the 'e'--electrolized water, supposedly more sanitary). 1 Do I really need to buy an elongated toilet?? My toilet is round, & frankly, it feels nice and comfy to me. Mostly it's only myself, and sometimes my 4 yr old grandson, who'll use this toilet. Some say the round tsbidets are too small. 2 Does anyone have an elongated tsbidet on a round toilet? 3 Has anyone put a white tsbidet on a beige toilet? (Some tsb only come in white, so of course my toilet is beige!) 4 I'm wondering if the "Far Infrared dryers" offer better drying; if they're better than just warm air dryers for people with various 'unmentionable' problems; or if it doesn't matter at all. Or maybe they're all far infrared? 5 Some have a 'Splash Guard'. Do tsbidets squirt water (clean or yucky) from below the seat? Thanks for any guidance!...See MoreToto Washlet vs Kohler C3/200
Comments (4)The Toto Aquia is a dual flush Toto toilet. You can always do a Neorest 500 series. They use 0.9 and 1.6 gals of water if I remember correctly. The S400 washlet also includes the flushing mechanism for the toilet. It also raises and toilet seat for the man of house and stops the arguing:-) Toto for marital bliss is my recommendation:-) I have an S300 and as part of my remodel, I think I have resigned myself to the fact that I will be getting a Neorest! The S300 and the Carlyle that it sits on will be relegated to the hallway bathroom! Good luck!...See MoreToto Washlet: best value/features?
Comments (14)kmcg: "We just returned from a trip to Japan, and my husband thinks I'm a little nutty to want one of these." Your husband will come around. When we are sweaty, we take a shower with water; we do not dry wash our bodies with paper napkins. The same considerations apply to cleaning the nether regions. Almost all of our family are Japanese, and most of them live in Japan. We are the only family unit among our extended family who have not had an advanced toilet seat in our bathroom for at least 15 years. The impediment in our home in the United States has been significant wiring issues to hook up an advanced toilet seat in either of our bathrooms, but we have bitten the bullet and overcome that obstacle. Next month -- finally -- we will be the last of our family to have an advanced toilet seat toilet. But we will not be getting a Toto Washlet. As twice-a-year returnees to Japan, we have constantly monitored the state of the art in Japan, and what we will be buying here for our own home is an Inax Clessence (for use on a Toto Vespin II, which it fits). We prefer the Inax two-wand design to the Toto one-wand design, and the wand flushing and cleansing system on the Inax looks better to us than the wand cleansing on the Totos, also. It does not hurt that, among Japanese, the Inax brand name carries a higher prestige value than does the Toto brand name. (Prestige always should be subservient to function, but, try as we might, we cannot ignore it.) You may come to a different conclusion, but we offer another data point for you to consider....See MoreToto Washlet?
Comments (9)Yes, I bought a TOTO S400 in Japan last year and installed on my old Sear toilet. See my video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQwJwssmqWE And since the Washlet is so green and high tech, I replaced my toilet too.....
