Bathroom Exhaust Fan Turns on by Itself
Comments (3)Thanks for your response, nini804. I was hoping your suggestion was the correct one. But it turns out that the wall switch failed in such a way that the circuit remained open, or on, all the time. The good news is that it is a little quieter after being cleaned!...See MoreHere's our ugly, small bathroom
Comments (7)Having just ripped out 2 baths with a similar ceiling tiled issue, what we found is that the ceiling was dropped with nothing above it- is your ceiling that is tiled over the bath lower than the rest of the room? We concluded that the reason was possible to reduce the cost of tiling higher walls?? Anyway, with a good ventilation fan, and if you just repair the ceiling to match the rest of the room height, you wouldn't necessarily have to tile the ceiling IMHO. hope that helps ps- if you look at all the work that weedyacres is doing, and they think it is a lot of work to tile the ceiling, well......See MoreUgly 1973 bathroom finally gone! Comments (7)Thanks for the compliments. I'm pleased with the Moen fixtures. Moen has a good warranty, they stand behind their products, and parts are easily obtained if needed. The handles turn smoothly and the water pressure is perfect. The shower curtain is the old one, which can be seen partially in a couple of the before pictures. It is pretty and looks even prettier now. I might change it though. I have a luxurious looking white one I might use, see www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?SKU=14710922. The original vanity was 59" with two sinks. We were going to get a 60" with two sinks, and replace the pony wall with a narrower one. I saw a neighbor's similar bathroom that was remodeled earlier this year. When I saw how spacious it looked the with 48" one sink and no pony wall, I decided to do the same. I also considered how DH and I use the bathroom, which is never at the same time. Also removed were the bulkheads above the vanity/toilet and tub. The smaller vanity with one sink does have more counter space than the 59"/60" with two. Seems like there's more room for better organized storage. The one piece vanity top and sink is easier to clean too. There's also a place for a wastebasket on the left side of the vanity, instead of in front like before....See Moreugly apartment bathroom tile - shower curtain and bath mat help needed
Comments (22)Thank you everyone!! I should clarify, I wouldn't mind the tile if the white was actually white, it's just more of a worn/cream/off white type color which is throwing me off a little bit. I do like the idea of adding a pop of color - I'm just one of those people that's usually afraid of color! So I first went for white and black and got a little disappointed. Loving the teal/aqua recommendation though:) thanks again everyone!...See MoreLynne Reno
