Those are very pretty! If I could paint like you do I'd decorate all my furniture with pine cones, acorns, fir sprigs, and oak leaves. I know you have a "thing" for acorns now; have you ever tried painting them? With fall coming up, something with acorns and fall foliage would be wonderful! But I think your first love is roses, and there where you live you can grow gorgeous ones (I know, I'm from Southern California).

Hi Magpie, I never really know what I'm going to paint next. Usually just pull out one of my painting books or magazines and look at the pages I've marked of projects I like and think I could paint.

I do love roses and am really trying to learn a more "relaxed" style than the one stroke ones I first learned.

I did do a few Fall items, you may have missed them. One was a tray with leaves and acorns. I've got a couple patterns earmarked for this fall too.

I really started liking acorns this past Christmas, and I like pinecones, holly & berries, evergreens, etc. so will probably try to paint some of those for the Fall/Winter holidays this year.

If I lived where you do, I'd be out collecting evergreens, acorns, pinecones, etc. for use as table centerpieces and other decor in my home. Can't beat Nature for pretty accents. ;o)

And believe me, you can paint--just find a good beginner's book and practice a bit. Not all painting has to be "realistic" to look good. In fact, I really prefer to paint the cute things most of the time.

They are beautiful Ms. Luvs, and those spoons are sooooo cute!! Looking forward to seeing your fall stuff again. I too love the leaves, acorns and pinecones!

Thanks Jaybird, I just wanted to tell you that I think of you everytime I see a new pattern with a cat on it! I need to practice painting some of them so I get better at it. How are your fur babies doing? Are they all housecats so they don't have to be concerned about the hot weather? I sure hope you get some nice showers soon so your plants and grass survive. I remember years like that when I lived in Mo. and Ks. too. We are having some water restrictions here too, but hasn't gotten severe yet.

Just beautiful!! You make me want to get my paints out, except I remember how much practice it took. With all my practice, my roses never were as pretty as yours.

I love those spoons. The smaller I tried to make roses, the less I liked them, yours are so pretty no matter the size. - Gail

Thanks Gail, I am never quite satisfied with anything I paint--always think it could have been better! LOL I just HAVE TO do something creative or I get really grumpy. I love looking for projects I think I might be able to paint and then just sitting in my laundry/craft room working away on it. You really should get your paints out, there are lots of things to paint that really look great but aren't that complicated. If I can do it--I know anybody can! ;o) Luvs

Lovely, Luvs! Have you painted your pretty roses on dinner plates or glasses yet? Salt and pepper shakers? I know they'd be great as you paint so beautifully. What a wonderful table those would make! Like so many here, I'm crazy about pinecones, Fall leaves and acorns. I'm anxious to see what the very talented Ms.Luvs comes up with this Autumn to show and inspire us with.
BTW, I picked up some amber glass plates and small bowls recently at GW. Now you've got me thinking about what else I can use with them. They'll work great, I think, with my leaf and pinecone pieces, but I'm just not in the mood to try Autumn tablescapes myself yet. I'm still in a Summer frame of mind . . . and loving it!

Well, I'm fine except I'm overbusy with all those courses, jobs and my online stuff but I'm fine.

As for the weather... hmmmm... let's say one day the sun is shining, we have 100° F and we die from heat and the very next day it's only 50°F, it's raining and we die from cold ;-)

Today, August 17th, 11.30 AM it's cold both outside and inside!!!

Fortunately, Belgians have a strong healthy background otherwise we all would be dead now as the weather changes too often - we event don't know what to wear.

However, I would say the Summer hasn't been as beautiful as it is since 2003... Hope next year we'll get the same Summer as 2003 with 3 sunny months and just what it takes in rainy nights to ensure good harvest - I miss sunny days a lot!

Seems the weather in Kathleen's area isn't good either. I'm really sorry for her but I feel less alone in the bad weather, lol.
