Is everyone still happy with their Fagor ovens? I need to replace a very old "Kitchen Queen" wall oven that is in a 22" x 24" cutout and all the "American" wall ovens are WAY too tall - they don't make any this small any more. The "European" 60 cm ovens look like they will work fine and of all I have found the Fagor 5HA-196X and the ones at Ikea are the lowest priced. The nearest Ikea is 4+ hours each way and they want > $300 to ship me an oven - so that is out. The Fagor has gone up in price by $100 since this thread was started, but it is still a "bargain" at $699 if you don't live near an Ikea - and could be a better oven even if you do have an Ikea in your area? Homeclick.com, the company that miamibeach used is out of business,it appears, but I found the oven at several online places for $699 plus shipping at some places. The dimensions in the Fagor install guide and owner's manual differ on the size of the "face" of the oven. The install guide shows the height of the face as being less than the height of the cut out. The owner's manual shows it larger - which makes sense, I guess. Can anyone double check the exterior height and width for me? They also never show the interior dimensions or list a "cubic feet" for the oven. How big is in inside? Our old oven is about 19" x 18" x 15 1/4" (less the room for the bottom and top coils and hardware to hold the oven racks). Based on miamibeach's pictures of the grease tray, the Fagor looks to be a bit smaller. Thanks!

The first time I heard of Fagor was from my kitchen designer. She said they were very popular in Europe. She specifically mentioned the Fagor oven but yeah, besides that, I hadn't heard of them and I wasn't able to find much information either. Sorry.

I already have one single wall oven GE profile in a oven cabinet that is only about 5 years old. I could move that oven under the counter & put the side swing in the oven cabinet. That would allow me to install my warming drawer directly under that oven. I don't think it would be so bad being a little higher with the side swing door.

Outlets close to the floor are great for stuff that gets plugged in and stays plugged in like table lamps and stuff on nightstands. In addition to that, who wants to look at a bunch of outlets and a cords hanging down in their line of sight all the time? The other side of the coin is what a pain it would be to bend down to plug in a kitchen appliance, for example every time. It is obviously only a thought exercise, but if kitchens did not have outlets above counters, they'd be installed high next to those counters anyway. We have 120V outlets for washers and gas dryers mounted high and for plugging in irons in laundry rooms. We're kind of stuck for things like the vacuum cleaner because the outlets anywhere but the above examples are for lamps and whatnot. A vacuum cleaner outlet in every room might be a slick idea. Maybe that is why my wife does not like to clean. She certainly does not like to bend over placing her head and shoulders near the floor. In laboratory situations, the original construction most often has wall outlets for coolers and large, floor-located equipment low. The electricians always want to add them low as well. I make a point to ask for the box about 4 feet off the floor. It is not so much so it is easy to reach. It means that after we plug em in and start to roll them toward the wall, the wheels don't get hung up on the cord as easily or at all.
