24inch electric wall ovens
Comments (11)I have a 24 inch Miele speed oven. This oven is small inside, but I can put 1/2 sheet size pans on the side grooves of the oven without metal racks to hold up the pans, and bake two "regular" sheets of cookies evenly. You cannot fit a full size sheet in a typical 27 inch or 30 inch ovens. (There may be a few 30 inch ovens that fit a full sheet.) So in reality, you can't fit a larger cookie sheet even though your oven maybe bigger..... I don't have a third tray to experiment if the 3rd tray of cookies will also come out as well if I baked them at the same time. These ovens are extremly even all around the cavity. So you don't need any circulating room around the food in the oven to make sure you have even browning. Miele also makes regular 24 inch ovens (not speed ovens). These ovens are designed to have pans on the bottom of the oven and still have the food come out "fine" unlike the cheaper ovens where there has to be some room between the heating element and the pan. I suggest that you take your tpical baking sheet and make sure they fit inside the 24 inch oven that you are looking at. Remember, it they fit on the side grooves, you can use it without the oven racks... For full disclosure, I also have a 30 inch range oven that I use for my turkey. I did not "try" to get the turkey in the 24 inch oven because it is a shorter oven than a typical oven....See MoreHave to use a 24 or 27 inch wall oven...
Comments (6)I ordered the Gaggenau EB290-630 27" oven from Treasure toot linked above last week. I called the fallowing day and it was confirmed they actually had 4 of them and that my order for 1 had already been packaged and was being loaded on a Conway truck. They sent an email also backing that up. Now a few day's later I get an email saying a refund has been credited to my CC and the purchase canceled with no explanation or phone call. Would typically not be a big deal but I already purchased some Gagg accesories through other vendors I now own. I could get no one to answer the phone today....See MoreOwner input - BlueStar 24-inch range
Comments (1)I have a 24" Bluestar range. I mentioned on a recent thread that I have a 20" x 16" cookie sheet that fits fine. And I bake bread etc. Yes, it still takes time to pre-heat, esp. if it's 500 or more degrees. I'm going to guess that it's approx. 25 minutes. The broiler gets hot in 2 minutes though. That's fast. I have no problem with the size of the oven. It's fairly large as you've discovered. The oven racks are 20" wide and 18" deep, and the width of the oven is wider than the rack, so you can use the entire rack and air will still circulate. The height of the oven interior is 15" from floor to ceiling ,and 12" from lower rack to ceiling. If you needed more height than that, you just remove the oven racks and take the side rack supports out and lay them on the oven floor- they become a lower rack that sets about an inch off the floor....See More24 inch gas ovens--choices, dillemmas
Comments (7)It was the variety in sizes and I like the look of the Berta better. It does have a couple of quirks, ie the over door has to be open before it will light; you have to hold the knobs in for a couple of seconds to ignite the oven or the burners; the fan runs all the time the oven is on. Despite of this, I love it. It also cleans very easily. I really wanted the 24" Aga Companion (and had saved for a long time to be able to afford the hefty price tag), but my ancient condo buildinbg couldn't deal with the dual fuel. When you go to see the Bertazzoni, have the person plug it in for you so you can hear the noise the fan makes. I did that and it doesn't bother me at all, but if you do a search here for Bertazzoni, you will find it does bother others. I also took my turkey pan to make sure it would fit! If you're in the DC area, you're welcome to come over! Best wishes....See Morezneret
